Cosmology Lore

In Aethersea, the cosmology is a focused balance cosmology. The primary gods represent the balance of natural forces:

- Tharok, the Allfather - Giant God 

- Celeste, the Astral Dragon 

- Solara, the Radiant Dawn 

- Malakar, the Lord of the Night 

- Aetharion, the Shattered God 

All gods have masculine and feminine forms - and may present themselves as either except Aetharion which is genderless and is not humanoid. It is customary to refer to them with the pronouns of however they have presented themselves to the cleric you're talking to, and for the general public to use the dominant perception of that god. 

An average person will invoke each of the gods at different times in their lives, and while they may feel more connected to one god than another, there is little pressure to "choose" one. 

After they die, souls are shepherded to the plane of death by Malakar, where people will self actualize their afterlife. The good will generally create good afterlives for themselves, and the evil will generally create their own living hells. 

The gods rarely, if ever are in direct conflict with one another, and there is no heavenly war for dominance going on. Rather, most conflicts between the gods are the result of misunderstandings, lack of communication, or followers who have gotten a bit too zealous. Most of the time, the gods are content to let the affairs of mortals play out as they will with their clerics there to serve as their voices and hands. However, sometimes more direct intervention is necessary.
