@halfging3r glad to hear about the tag system. As far as making a field for Owners, it already exists. I just prefer to link pages as opposed to names, that way, when I visit the page in the future, I can click on the owner directly and catch up on whatever I wrote about him. I'll make do, for now, though.

Something I noticed in the Documents feature: When trying to make an ordered list, the numbers and the text don't quite line up. Instead, they look like this-

Idk, just something that was bothering me a little. Also, it would be great if there were more varieties added to the list maker, like bullet points and check marks. Other than that, the docs feature is still pretty great.

The same thing happens for me with bullets in all the other pages. The numbers, however, work fine in docs. I haven't tried them in regular pages, though.

And yes, having bulleted lists in docs would be nice.

Yeah, speaking of docs, I ran into an interesting problem on mobile. I went to go edit a doc I made earlier whewhen I was using a computer and it is impossible to do anything except exit.
I went in at first and this is what I get as soon as I click the "Edit" button: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cWotXcRC3R1v3uhjzRSU76YtsayblNsJ/view?usp=drivesdk
So I thought well, maybe I should turn my phone sideways? Survey says: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uZRAjmGnQwoO_VciIS4lkHVWFAys1Azp/view?usp=drivesdk
NOPE.
So yeah if @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) could maybe fix this at some point, that'd be great. :)

That's what I thought

I have a fix for editing documents on mobile going out today. Thanks, everyone. :)

I'll look into those weird list formats as well.

Documents should look a lot better now on mobile (though I'm still working on the list issue). Let me know if you have any other problems!

I'd like to suggest to change the dimensions of the shown picture one can upload to use for pages. A long and thin header might work relatively well for universes, locations and some other pages, but a more square and maybe less long picture would be better for characters, items, floras and the like. Everything that would benefit from being shown in a more profile picture-like way instead of a header. If I don't want the header to only show the characters neck and mouth or something similiar, I always have to crop them to be rather narrow height wise, which isn't exactly useful to show the characters look.
Kind of like this (couldn't find a better example of what I meant):

I absolutely love the tag system (seriously, it's great)! It makes it so much easier to find things without having to scroll through so many pages :)

Anyway, I just came up with an idea that I think could make it even better:

The ability to categorize tags.

For example, you know how, on Amazon in the sidebar, there are a bunch of categories of various filters to help you narrow your search? Something like that. Like, on the "Races" or "Creatures" pages, you could make categories like "Creature Type" for tags like 'mammal,' 'reptile,' 'aquatic,' etc., and then another category called "Hierarchy" for things like 'family,' 'sub-race,' 'breed,' 'genus,' etc.

Another example might be, for instance, on the "Items" pages. There might be one category called "Amount" with tags like 'single item,' and 'item type,' and another category for tags like 'furniture,' 'toys,' 'clothes,' or 'dishes,' maybe called "Item Type," or something, and then a third category, maybe, for "Style" or something, with tags like 'modern,' 'old-fashioned,' 'couture,' 'cutesy,' etc. You might also be able to make sub-categories, too, if you wanted. Or, sub-tags, maybe? I don't know, I'm not a coder.

Anyway, it's just an idea, and the tag system would still be totally fantastic without it!

Thanks again for everything you do, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)!

I know this has been mentioned a few times already, but it would be awesome if you could make it possible to pay for premium subscription plans via paypal. I really would love to get one, but I will probably never get myself a credit card in my life.

need major accessibility improvements but I see that it’ll probably never happen completely

person_off

even if there is accessibility improvements no one that actually needs to know knows about them because unlike other features no one makes mention of them in any dedicated posts which unfortunately is an issue of underrepresentation rather than anything else; i’m not only thinking of myself because there could be any number of people who access the site the same way I do and no one else would know anything because I’m the only one who seems to fight for this kind of thing with no results so far

group

Well, it would help if you could say how you access this site, what your accessibility issues are, and even tagging andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) in your post…. It might increase the likelihood of it being seen and dealt with.

Would it be possible to be able to mass add and remove tags instead of having to add them to characters individually, so that we can add a lot of characters to a tag at once, or delete a tag without having to remove it from every character that's in it one at a time?

as I said before, I’m a voiceover user and as for that voiceover is like any other screen reader in regards to making everything accessible

You could also do a double screen and copy paste from a document what you want to write into the field on notebook.

person_off

that’s not really the issue; that works fine. It’s just the fact that certain stuff that should work doesn’t work with voiceover. Example? The currently online list doesn’t display for voiceover and I’m sure it’s the same for most other screen readers

Maybe it's your computer, and not Notebook.ai?

no because I’ve had friends check who are also blind and they have the same issues

Well notebook it still in its infancy. I'm sure @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) is still working out the kinks. Give him some time to figure out how to make it perfect. He rolls out updates and bug fixes all the time. I'm sure he's working on it.

person_off

Rolling out stuff with out first making sure that it won’t cause problems with some users is in my opinion pretty important

person_off
Deleted user

this is gonna take some design changes to make everything screen reader accessible

person_off

Perhaps that's why it's taking time for him to fix it. Patience is a virtue.

tbh, I don't think accessibility is on everyones radar as much as you'd might think. At first I thought you were talking about accessibility as in "access from another device than a pc", for example via mobile or tablet. Might be because I don't know anyone blind personally, but it didn't even cross my mind that someone blind might use a website like this. While I know blind people also use the internet, I never thought about how exactly, except for being read texts by a software and dictating softwares to google or write posts/messages. And obviously watching/hearing videos.

So I could very well imagine that andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) also didn't think of those things when he designed the website. Not that I know. Just what it would've been like if I was in his position of creating a website. Depending on how well someone knows about those access problems, the concept of how blind people use the internet might be foreign and one wouldn't think of it at all when making a website. Of course it's on your mind, as you are a blind internet user. But it's not neccessarily the same with everyone else.

But as FaeEris wrote, notebook is still in it's infancy. And also not a huge website with a huge team behind it. This kind of stuff probably takes time. Who knows what the priority list looks like.
And "Rolling out stuff with out first making sure that it won’t cause problems with some users is in my opinion pretty important" is true of course, but it's possible someone simply didn't think of those probably relatively few users without any bad intentions, as written above.

But all in all I'm of course for making notebook properly usable for people with access problems.

Agreed! It just takes time. Coding isn't as easy as breathing, but I'm sure @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) is working on it. :)

Removing oneself from private messages:

Honestly, I think this feature should be established. There are some PM’s I want to remove myself from, but either I don’t know how to do that, or there really isn’t a feature that let’s you do that. I mean, you can unfollow forums but you can’t really take yourself out of PM’s.

All in all, if there isn’t something like this, it should definitely be added. (:
