Well, speaking of art, any tips on animation? I'm just learning and all of y'all are the senpais of the art world because, well, you're really good honestly, and I'd like to get better skills lol.

As a complete beginner, I can say that these videos are not only helpful but somewhat easy to understand, even when you have no idea what anything means

Thanks!
One more thing I forgot to add. Take into account the character you're drawing a model sheet for. A background character isn't going to be as complicated or show up as much, so if you even need to make a sheet you'll only need a front or back view. The sheet I showed is for a main character. So I've added a lot more sketches, notes, and details to make sure she stays on model. Depending on how complex the design is you might not even need notes and can just draw the basic structure and different views.
Also, Ella's suggestions for videos are great! I can't say I've seen the others, but the 12 principles is a great video whenever you need a quick review on the technique.

Okay, so I found this image of the ye olde BBC radio sound team and I thought, this would make a really good Draw the Squad challenge.

I'm already working on a piece for it, but I'd like to just put the image up here in case anyone thinks it would be fitting for their characters.

Yeah, it does right?

Itttssssss style challenge tiiimmmeeeeeee

Every June I do a 30-day art style challenge, where I draw the exact same character every single day over and over again in 30 different art styles, just for fun.
I’ll be sure to share the drawings from this year (and the past two years for comparison) as I create them

@The-N-U-T-Cracker

Does anyone know of some good art sharing websites? PaigeeWorld might be shutting down this month and I need a backup plan

DeviantART, Tumblr, Pinterest, etc…

Pinterest is a good one, as well as Instagram if you have one. It lessens the chances of your work being stolen.

@Norepinephrinxx

I post mine on Instagram

I put mine on a Pinterest board

I've always used DeviantArt and Tumblr. Tumblr is unfortunately not that great for exposure unless you draw really good fanart it seems.

Sorry to bring up something random but there is a class reunion roleplay that could really use some members

All of the characters seem really fun so if anyone is interested there it is

Hey so I promised I'd be bringing this up lmao

So I wanted to use charcoal on this picture (which is color edited, the unedited is below it) because he's a Demon OC of mine, and obviously they're represented more with dark outlines rather than long features or sharp teeth (both are displayed).

But I also wanted more of a lighthearted thing cus he's a cutie?? What do you all think?

It's really good!

Thanks! Do you have an opinion on the charcoal thing?

I don't use it much but I think it works well.

oh I should've mentioned I only used graphite and blending tools in this.

But thanks!

@ravens

Wow, Emi, that looks great!!

@The-N-U-T-Cracker

Just a quick question for you guys:

HOW THE PANCAKE-FLIPPING HECK DO YOU COLOR SKIN?

I've tried so many methods and it always ends up looking like garbage. Fabric I can draw just fine, eyes are easy, backgrounds aren't too bad… But skin. How does it even work?

I’m drawing the Schuyler sisters from Hamilton and I’m really proud of it so far and I’m scared of ruining it by adding faces
(I drew Eliza’s face and it looked terrible so I erased it)

@ravens

wow, that's really good!!

It still needs the faces obviously, but I’m scared when I draw them it’ll ruin the picture (because like I said, Eliza’s face turned out really bad so I erased it)

Hm may I give some advice?

Please?

Sure!

Alright so god of necks right here is gonna tell you that they're rather skinny. I would suggest drawing out a slim face/jaw for the girls, before actually measuring out the proportions. Depending on your style (and for what I can see in it), I would suggest keeping the facial features simple. Perhaps a little detail on the nose, small eyebrows. And the ears at the side of the head after being slimmed down will definitely help put the piece together. I would ultimately suggest to start a drawing like this with the head, shoulders, and chest, and do hair, legs and clothes last. And definitely use references to see what kind of style you want to develop, since you seem like you're on the fence about what you want to pursue.

Hope I help!
