tbh it has been AGES since ive rp'd. (were talking yahoo IM and chat rooms…god why do i feel old all of a sudden?). im really interested in getting back into it, but i dont know where to start. ive got so many characters to choose from, but im just at a loss lol. most of the stuff im interested in rping is fantasy based, but on earth. like modern fantasy…like i said i dont really know lol. have any tips/tricks for me? thanks!
Absolutely! a couple shortcuts that you should know:
If you put asterisks on either side of a phrase it will make it italics. This but without spaces: * Something something something *
Here on Notebook.ai, the rpers will usually put the things that are out of the story in parentheses and the thoughts and asterisks in italics.
The best way to improve at rping is to rp so just jump right in! There are sooooooo many different rps so if you're ever bored just browse and find something that interests you. You said you had some fantasy ideas? If you'd like to share them we could rp right here with your ideas.

Here are some of the shortcuts and what you should use them for:
"" : use them when the character is speaking (that's kind of obvious but thought I'd mention it.
** : Put one on each end of a phrase to italicize it and indicate a motion or inner thought.
(): Use parentheses to say something outside of the story like (What's your character's name again?)
= : Putting this underneath something makes it bigger. This is just for fun.
**: Put 2 of them at the end each end of a word or a phrase to make it bold.
Other: Putting an image URL that ends in png or jpg on its own line will make it show the picture.
