Violet rubs her temples, staring at the ground in front of her feet. “He’s- well, it’s fine. Don’t worry. Is Robi-“ she looks up, all eyes on her and let’s a fake smile cross her lips. “Robin, Love. So good to see you again.”
Robin shyly smiles back. “Violet, if there’s a problem, please don’t let me get in the way.”
Vi bites her lip and her and Cage simultaneously say, “It’s fine.”

Having used all of his courage to actually kiss her, he’d forgotten it would take a little to stop too.
His face flushes a deep red.
Ah, okay.
He pulls her closer, deciding it was better to make themselves comfortable.

"Vi," Miki said, voice low so Robin and Cage couldn't hear. "If you need to go do something or go be in your room, we'll be fine. Or if I can help…" she peered at her intensely, not an ounce of levity left on her face. "If you need me then you tell me, okay?"

Silver fought against a grin, realizing it would take more courage for him to pull away and look her in the eye after this than to just not stop. She wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning into his kiss, having absolutely no complaints about this lasting longer.

Violet shakes her head, just barely. “He’s on his way. I’ll just- I’ll be in my room.” She whispers.
She heads up the stairs and Cage watches while Robby tries not to stare and starts to stir the mix again.

(This kiss is gonna last forever)
At least this isn’t awkward yet.
She’ll pull away eventually.
The wind whistles and Silvers phone bings with a text.

Miki watched her go until she was out of sight, then turned and skipped back into the kitchen. "Okay, let's heat up the oven!" she set the cake pan next to the bowl. "You wanna pour it in, Robby?" she asked.

"GAH!" Silver yelped as her phone vibrated in her back pocket, jerking away from Gabriel and twisting to grab it. Her cloak hindered her movement and she slipped off the branch. "AH GABE!" she screamed.

Reflexively, his wings arch behind him to catch the air just in case he falls, and he grabs her arm, putting his other hand on her lower back to keep her seated on the branch. He stares, his violet eyes wide and his mouth barely open, showing his pointy teeth.
“Y- you alright? What is it?”

Kissa heads upstairs and movement in the kitchen resumes.
Robby pours the mix in the pan. “So Miki, what do you do?”

Silver let out a breath as her heart calmed down, still holding onto him. After a second she snorted, erupting with giggles. "My phone vibrated." she managed to say. "And it tickled my butt."

"Me?" Miki said. "Oh, I work at same cafe Cage does. We're both waiters." she set the oven to 350.

Robby smiles. “How sweet! I should stop by sometime to see you both.”
Cage beams. “Omg yes I would love that. My boss would not, but I would.” He giggles.

He pulls her back so she can balance herself and let’s go of her arm.
“Oh.”

"Just come by on his break and you'll be fine." Miki said, popping the cake into the oven when it beeped. "Okay, let's eat soup now!"

Silver settled herself on the branch better, still laughing. "I'm sorry," she leaned up and kissed his cheek. "I ruined our moment." She reached back and pulled her phone out to read the text.

Cage pulls the bowls out of the cabinet and sets them beside the soup, dishing Robby and Miki both out a serving. He sits down with his own bowl. “Mmmm! This is actually good!”

Gabriel sits still, watching as she checks her phone.
It’s a text from Ben-

I’m on my way home now and just wanted to know how things are going. Violet is going to stress all her hair gray, please go tell her I’ll be fine.

"Well, duh." Miki said, grabbing a box of crackers from the pantry. "Vi made it with her mom powers, it has to taste good."

Silver frowned, panic flashing across her face. "Why is he only now coming home?? He left at like 10 this morning. He should have gotten back at like 2. At the latest." Her heart raced again and she typed a text back You're still gone?? What happened?? Are you okay?? Why will Violet stress??

Robby giggles, trying not to choke on her spoonful.
Kissa marches downstairs. “WHERES MY BROTHER AND THAT LITTLE FREAK CHILD.”

Ben texts back-

How did you not know I wasn’t home??? Where have you been? What are you doing???

Miki frowned up at Kissa, dishing out a bowl for Violet. "I thought she went into the basement like… idk, couple hours ago. She's probably trying to read Ben's mind from a gazillion miles away and find out where he is." She grabbed a sleeve of crackers and carefully carried the bowl upstairs and knocked on Violet's door. "Viiiiii," she crooned quietly. "I brought you foooood."

Silver blanched, looking up at Gabriel in horror. "Oops." she whispered. "I… I… help, what do I tell him." she asked, holding up the phone so Gabe could see.

Gabriel squints at the screen.
Oh no. Oh great.
“Ahhh, ummn. Tell him you’re just sitting in a tree! You got distracted and lost track of time??” He looks up to her. “That sounds good.”

Violet opens her door, giving Miki a smile and taking the food. “Thank you so much, Love. Do you know where Silver is? Ben is asking.”

"Yeeeaaahh. Okay. Well, that's not a lie." she swallowed, looking at her phone for a moment before glancing back up at him. "We can never tell Ben that we kissed. He'll kill us both." she whispered.

Miki shrugged. "I think she's still in the basement. I never saw her come back up after she went down a while ago. I'll go check cuz Kissa is freaking out too."

Gabriel nods in agreement. “Trust me, I know.”
He scoots closer to watch her type and send it.
I just know he’s gonna somehow figure out what really going on.

Vi nods, “Ah, Alright. I’ll just tell him she’s in the basement, no need to bother her. She’s probably asleep or needing some time alone. Thank you though.”

Silver nodded. "Okay, umm, let's see." She typed, Yeah, I just went outside to the woods behind the house for a while. She looked up at Gabriel. "Is that…?? It's not a lie, is it?"

"Oki." Miki shrugged and trotted down the stairs, grabbing her soup and joining the others in the living room. Pulling out her phone, she texted Cage, P.S. I think my sis and the vamp snuck off somewhere. Kiss and Ben will kill em if they find out. Just don't mention them k?

Cage peeks at his phone and text back:
They're so naughty but I mean I won’t mention them. Hope they’re having a good time :)

Gabriel scoots closer and rests his chin on her shoulder. “No, that’s fine. Go ahead and send it.”

Miki grinned at his text, but put her phone away. "So what do you do besides work at the library, Robby?" she asked. "What do you do for fun?"

Silver took a deep breath and sent the text before she could think better of it. "I feel like I'm lying."

“Ah, well between school and work I don’t have much time for hobbies. I painted a lot last year though.”
Cage gasps. “OMG MIK HER PAIntings are legit the best thing, wanna see??”
Robin blushes and takes another bite.

Kissa steps outside, “GABRIEL. YOU BETTER NOT HAVE THAT WENCH WITH YOU.”
Violet opens her window. “Kissa! You better lower your voice and never call Silver that again.” She glares, shouting down.

Gabriel slips his arms around Silvers stomach and the phone beeps again.

Ben-
What??? Vi said you’re in the basement? Where is Gabriel?

"Oh, yes, I wanna–" Miki sat up, staring out the window. "Did Kissa just say what I think she said."

Silver leaned back into him, clamping a hand over her mouth. "Gabriel we're dead." she whispered. Frantically she typed, I was??? And then I went outside??? I guess they didn't see me??? "Help, he's gonna kill us." she groaned, turning so her back was resting against his chest. "Is that too suspicious? What do I tell him??"

Robin chokes on her soup and Cage closes his eyes, biting his lip. “Ah- Robby I sincerely apologize. Kissa is evil.” He casually pats her back and she clears her throat.
“Oh no worries. I’m sure she’s just having a bad day.”

Gabriel squishes his cheek against hers.
I’m going to be murdered.
“Yeah, that’s fine.”

Miki sighed, setting her soup down and going to the backdoor. Stepping outside, she yelled, "KISSA, IF YOU EVER CALL MY SISTER THAT AGAIN I WILL KILL YOU WITH MY BARE HANDS AND DIG YOUR GRAVE WITH MY BARE HANDS AND BURY YOU WITH MY BARE HANDS."

Silver hesitated, biting her lip. "Maybe… let's remove the question marks." She changed it to, I was? Then I went outside. I guess they didn't see me. "Cuz we're invisible." she whispered out loud, hitting send. "Uuuggghhh, Gabriel." she leaned her head back onto his shoulder, staring up at the stars above them.

Kissa turns around, baring her teeth and hissing. “If she so much as touched my brother I’m gonna-“
“You’re going to shut your mouth! Don’t make me come down there, Kiss.” Violet threatens from above, still glaring.
Cage purses his lips and looks to Robin. “Ah. Just us I guess.”
She smiles, “I guess.”

Gabriel tightens his arms around her for a moment, squishing her a little.

Miki planted her hands on her hips. "Ever thought maybe it was YOUR BROTHER who snuck her away??? Maybe it was his idea!"

Silver sighed. "No, I'm good he–" suddenly she stopped, turning her head to look at him. "Hey. You've…" slowly she lifted her hand and booped his nose with one finger. "You're talkative tonight."

“I DONT CARE WHICH IT WAS YOUR SISTER IS A FREAKIN WITCH OR SOMETHING!” She shrieks.
Violet closes the window and walks downstairs, heading outside to stand by Miki. “You, my Dear, are going to your room right now. And you’re staying there until Benjamin gets back home.”
Cage stares at the door, bored and stirring his soup. “You still excited to see Ben too?”
Robby softly giggles. “Maybe a little less.”

Miki sighed, rubbing her forehead. "Kissa, I really don't want to have to murder you."

Silver grinned. "No, it's good, I'm just not used to hearing you say so many words. You've said like fifty words in the last five–" she froze, realization dawning. "Goodness, Gabriel, if I knew kissing you would open your mouth I'd have done it two years ago!" she laughed.

He tenses, his grip on her tightening without him realizing.

Kissa marches past them both angrily and storms into her room, slamming the door and cussing on the other side.
Violet rubs her head and turns around. “I am so sorry, Robin.”
Robin beams. “No it’s fine, really.”

Silver laughed, putting one hand over his and stroking his arm with her other hand. "I mean I sure wanted to kiss you these last two years but I knew you would have run away so." She booped his nose again. "You're such a cute Gabriel creature."

Miki flopped onto the couch again and picked up her soup. "Sorry Robby. Do you have sisters? Be sure to get nice ones, not evil ones like her." She waved her spoon toward the staircase.

Robby opens her mouth to talk but the sound of screeching tires fills the air. The door flies open and Ben jogs in, taking his helmet off. “Where’s Silver?!?” He shouts.

Gabriel nuzzles his head into her neck to avoid talking or the conversation in general.

Miki raised an eyebrow. "Basement? Why is everyone freaking out about her?"

Silver grinned and reached her arm up behind his neck, drifting her fingers through his hair. "I like this." She whispered after a few moments.
