Enzo looks at Cayde depending on where no

"ok then."
Quinn searches the map with his keen brown eyes. "If we're here, following the river upstream would be the simplest path to @Mapitak."
"But since its evening now, I think we should chill here for the night." Says Jasmine. She looks to Enzo. "Will you be staying here the night too?"

Enzo looks back at Jasmine "if you want me to sure"

"I wasnt trying to make you– um I was wondering what your choice was. " She looks a little flustered. "I wasn't trying to ask you to stay, I wanted to know what you wanted to do."

Enzo starts feeling bad "Sorry, I can go if you want"

Cayde stifles a snort and elbows Quinn, who glares around at no one in particular.
"No, no." Jasmine begins. "Do whatever–"
But before she could finish, A horse trots into view of the four. The rider sounds like he's wearing armor, judging by the clanging and clinking noises accompanying his passage.
"Quick, inside, now." Quinn's voice is low and sharp, and he crouches a little as if in preparation for a fight. Cayde disappears into the cabin without a sound. Jasmine gestures for Enzo to follow them in.
"That sounds like a soldier, we need to hide. Come on!"

Enzo follows them inside "What is this about?"

(sorry for the erratic times, my internet is terrible so I can't reliably get online much)

"Some Karen of a queen wants me captured." Quinn explains. "But Jasmine and Cayde aren't included in the package deal, so they can be killed or taken alive. I won't let either happen."
Cayde is scambling up the stairs to the second floor. Jasmine follows him, but slower. Quinn stays downstairs, opening a pack and rifling through.

"And you are sure you want a wolf like me in your cabin?" Enzo said concerned

Quinn glances up at him. "Oh its not mine. Not my cabin, I mean. You seem like a nice guy, and the soldiers – for surely there are more – Are ruthless and would shoot down a shifter like you in a heartbeat, not even think about it." He raised his voice and cast his eyes to the ceiling. "Jas! Where's the doggone crossbow!"
"It aughta be in there! Use them eyes!"
Quinn rolled them eyes, then looked directly at Enzo. "What kind of shifting thing you got going on? Like how does it work?"

Enzo thinks about how to explain it "Well it's hard to explain but when you are a new wolf you would shift into a wolf on a full moon but once you get to control when you shift you could shift whenever you want"

"Sooo… kind of like the full moon gives the new ones training wheels?" Quinn pulls a worn crossbow out of his pack, then calls up, "Cayde! I found the crossbow!"
The scrawny kid creeps down, much different from his earlier rambunctious mode of moving. "Thanks." he says, Taking it and heading back up.
An idea seems to strike Quinn. "Say… how stealthy are you Enzo?"

(this is my last post for the day, but ill be back tomorrow! its time for me to go to bed, so i'll be back in about 12 hours.)

Enzo smiles "Very stealthy. Why?"

(I'm back!)

Quinn returns the smile. "I was thinking you could maybe do some reconnaissance on the soldier– see how many there are, where they're at, that stuff. But it could be dangerous, so that's why you'd need to be super stealthy."

Enzo laughs "You are acting like I never hunted before"

He chuckles. "My bad. Are you okay to go take a look outside? Don't go too far, just look around and see what there is to see."

Enzo smiles "There's no need I have super hearing" Enzo starts listening

okay then Quinn thinks. He waits silently so he doesn't mess up whatever Enzo is hearing.

"There is more than 3 soldiers and they are looking for you and they won't stop until they have found you"

He sighs. "Yup. That figures. How close are they? Can you tell?"

Before Enzo could answer there's a knock on the door

"Shhhhhh!t!" Quinn whisper-shouts. "Upstairs. Go, go!" He lifts a quarterstaff from the corner by the door, settles into a fighting stance, and gestures again for Enzo to go up. "I'll hold them off as long as I can. The stairs will bottleneck the soldiers so you three can take them easier."

(I didn't see that coming! Do you know who it is, or am I supposed to make up who it is?)

(it's up to you. I have an idea though) Enzo doesn't move. He wants to help fight
