"Oh, of course. Why do you think there was always a dress on your bed? And have you ever checked who made it?"

"What, you think I check the labels on everything I own? I need something to sift the flour. Have you seen a strainer?"

"Over there." He pointed to the strainer.

"Got it." She picked it up and sifted the flour. "Would you get the cocoa?"

He did so.

They continued making the cake. Nyx hummed a song as she did so.

Finally, they finished making and baking the cake

Nyx slathered frosting onto it. "This smells amazing. Do you want to get some plates out?"

"Yes." He got out some plates.

They sat down at the table; Nyx cut off a slice and speared some onto a fork. "Now, open your mouth and close your eyes."

He did so.

Nyx put the fork in his mouth. It was the best chocolate cake he'd ever tasted.

"Wow!!!" He said, loving it

"Do you like it?" she asked.

"Like it? I LOVE it!!"

"Yeah, it's good, huh?" She cut herself a slice. "I'm glad you got the recipe."

"Very good." He got another slice.

"How do you get inside people's heads, anyway? Is that something you could teach me?"

"Nope. That power comes from being a demon."

She nodded. They finished their cake and did the dishes; Nyx covered the cake in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge.
It was getting late; the sun was just brushing the distant horizon.
"What now?" she asked.

He shook his head.
"I don't know, Nyx."

"I'd say go to bed, but it's a little early for that."
She thought for a moment.

"You watched Aladdin with me, no?" An idea popped into his head

"Of course I did."

"Okay then." And then he enchanted a flying carpet

Nyx gasped and laughed, clambering on. "As long as you don't make me sing the song, this is going to be great!"

"Oh, I will." He joked

She scowled at him.

"Fine… I won't. I'll sing it myself!"

She laughed. "Let's go!"
