Nyx walked along behind the two of them, arms folded, breath steaming slightly in the chilly air. Her spurs were pricked up - even the ones on her ankles, a rare occurrence.
"Where are we heading?" she asked stiffly.

"We're just walking for now…"

She sniffed and buttoned up her jacket.

Nyx was lost in thought. Vozreal had told her she looked "nice".
Memory flooded through her.
You look nice today, Six.
I look the same every day, Seven.
But you look super nice today! A dimpled smile; she'd elbowed him in the ribs, and a sleepy Eight had watched.
Nyx blew a breath out and searched the sky for something, though she didn't know what.

He didn't notice

"Are we going anywhere specific?" she asked after another few minutes of walking.

'Just walking, not everywhere you go has to have a destination."

She privately disagreed, but stayed silent. The only noise she made, apart from her footsteps, was the clank of her bracelets against each other as she walked, arms folded.

"Walk like an egyptian…" He hummed poetically

Nyx raised her eyebrows and remained silent.

"I'm determinated to make you laugh out loud…" He told her

"Oh, you are, are you?" She scowled.

"And what's wrong with that?" He asked

She tilted her chin up and frowned. "You're not doing a very good job."

"Wanna hear a joke?" He asked

Nyx raised an eyebrow. "Not particularly."
At least it would be better than Seven's jokes, which never made sense.

It was two-tyred to stand up! A sparkling giggle, green eyes sparkling mischievously, and Nyx had sighed and rolled her eyes and Phoenix and Anne had laughed.

"My life…" He sighed

"You are worse than Seven," Nyx said without thinking, one side of her mouth tugging itself into a smile.

"Did you hear the one about the roof?"

"I don't believe I have."

"Nevermind, it would've been over your head!" He chuckled

"What do you get from a pampered cow?" He asked

"Spoiled milk! HAHAHA!" He chuckled

"And Val's asleep!" He said
