Melanie sighed, looking at her best friend, Abbie. She never knew exactly how they had become friends-Melanie hated everything revolving around social interaction-but they had. And Abbie was the exact opposite of Melanie, attitude-wise, at least.
"Could you just stop smiling? I swear, you're gonna kill people with that smile."
"Nope! Why don't you 'stop' frowning? It won't hurt you!"
"No. Can we please watch TV peacefully?" Melanie scoffed, rolling her eyes as she jumps onto the couch.

Hinata plopped down on the couch, staring at her phone.
( yeets in gently, may i join? even though i'm very late-)

Death rolled into the room like a ninja and then sat on the floor in front of the couch, facing the people sitting on it. "heya strangers!" he greeted them cheerfully and with a smile, although the deer skull mask covered it.

Melanie narrowed her eyes. "And who might you be?" She looked at Death with an annoyed appearance.
Abbie had the opposite response. "Hi! I'm Abbie." Her smile was not literally spread from ear-to-ear, but if she could, it would've done so.
Death waved excitedly at Hinata before talking to the other two again
"i'm Death! it's nice to meet you! don't worry, i'm not here to reap anyone!"
he wiggled like a 5 year old who couldn't sit still as he spoke. he already liked Abbie, you could tell because he whipped out a little notepad that had 'my favorite alive people' written on the front in crayon. he quietly said 'Abbie' slowly while he spelled it before snapping it shut
he was very excited to meet people while not being watched by Life constantly.

Hinata seeing that he was basically a little kid, turned off her phone.
"I'm Hinata. It's nice to meet you!"

"Oh. Great, a kid named Death. How sweet." Melanie's tone was obviously sarcastic, and Abbie shoved her.
"I like kids!" Abbie protested. "This is…Melanie. She's a bit problematic." Abbie explained to the others in the room.
(hey nerds this is my first character chat so i'm not 100% sure what's going on or what I should do but i realized it might help me develop my characters so imma try it thank u )
Myst's eyes gazed around the room, studying it as she walked in. She noticed the only exit was the one she was walking through right now, so she leaned against the wall a few feet away from the door. She crossed her arms and studied everyone in the room, scoffing quietly when she noticed something particular about each person.

Hinata looked up at the newcomer.
"You are..?"

"Hinata." She patted the couch next to her.
"You could always sit down, you know."
Myst eyed the couch suspiciously before slowly shaking her head. She shot Hinata a nervous smile.
"I'm fine here, thank you."
She gazed around the room, desperate for a conversation topic to give Hinata.
"So, what do you do for a living?"

"Well, I'm the official Balance Keeper of the multiverse. Basically, I make sure that not too many worlds have a good fate, and not too many have bad fate. On the side, I run a children's diner and arcade." Hinata shrugged, like it was the most normal thing in the world.

"Normally, I would look, but since I'm on vacation I don't have access to the database."

"Still, I'm sorry I couldn't look into it for you."
