She sighed and blew hair out her face. "They literally sent me to live the last six years of my life with my unrelated great grandparents. Which has been super awesome, but still. They killed my real parents so they could raise me as their own, and part of me really finds it hard to forget that."
Therapy Session for your tortured souls.
“Oh. Well then. Did they kill your real parents solely because they wanted to raise you, or kill them because they were bad people and then decided to take care of the child that was left parent less? Because either way, it’s not so bad.”
"Huh. They killed my parents because my parents were bad people. So I guess, I'd be bad if they hadn't." She paused to think about it.
At that moment, the woman next to Serenade slowly woke up, stretching her arms. She stood and stretched herself out, then summoned her magic, black and white swirling around her hands and horns.
Adriana watched her, fascinated. She stayed quiet, her gaze beginning to flicker back and forth between the two.
Serenade growled under her breath as the woman yawned, then sat back down.
“Adrianna, meet Asla. Asla, say hi.” Asla completely ignored Serenade, and began twisting her magic into a dagger.
Adriana blinked a the dagger. "'sup. I'm here for my therapy, is that a problem?" As if weapons would phase her…
“She’s just weird. Ignore her,” Serenade replied for Asla, the woman still not commenting. Suddenly, Asla grabbed the dagger and stabbed it into her hand, then sucking on the blood that came out. Serenade gagged.
Adriana cocked her head. "Gross. Blood in front of a patient? What if I were scared of it?"
“Honestly, Asla probably doesn’t comprehend what therapy is. It’s very hard to explain things to her when she has no motivation to listen to you.”
Adriana nodded. "Interesting. And she works at a therapy place?" It was partially a rhetorical question, Adriana's own sarcasm showing through.
“Nope. The Divine Protector straddled her with me for the day, says that ‘it will be interesting to see how others react’. Honestly, why she does things like this is beyond me.” Asla made a happy moan as she sucked her own blood out of her hand.
Adriana nodded, watching Asla closely. "Interesting. She's very… Violent."
“You have no idea.” Serenade grimaced.
(Well, actually you do have an idea of how violent she is, from two different places evil snicker)
(She's terrifying…)
Adriana raised her eyebrows at Asla. "Does she try to eat other people often? Or just herself?"
“Depends on what she feels like. She drinks her own blood a lot, and I don’t understand how she can possibly survive like that. I mean, it’s just digesting nutrients you already had…not to mention it’s gross and I’ve had nightmares about it.” Serenade shuddered.
"It's super gross." Adriana agreed, now realizing with horror, she would forever have those images imbedded in her mind.
Serenade turned away slightly from Asla, who had finished sucking the blood out of her palm. Blood dropped onto the floor as Asla fell back asleep.
"Does she sleep a lot, too?" Adriana asked, wondering how long they would have until she woke up again.
“I mean, when you put a sleeping spell on her she does.” Serenade grinned, lifting her hands to reveal magic swirling around them. Her majestic white wings dropped slightly as Serenade put Asla to sleep for an indefinite amount of time.
Adriana grinned. "Good to know."
“So, back to therapy. Next issue?” Serenade leaned forward, trying to counteract the weight of her now mostly limp wings.
Adriana's face scrunched up. "I might be in love with my adopted brother? Is that weird? He technically isn't legally adopted, thought. We've just been living in the same house for the past sevenish years."
“Not weird at all. Really, the only problem with being in love with siblings is that the genes are too similar and the kids will be messed up, and it’s a little creepy, but other than that your fine. Go with it. Also, if you’ve known them that long then you will know whether or not you can trust them, so I’d say it’s pretty advantageous. But please, don’t get love advice from me, it is physically impossible for me to feel sexual or romantic attraction.”
"Sounds good! We aren't actually related, so it should work out. I'll take any love advice from anyone, and maybe that makes you a better, less biased person to give it."
Serenade just shrugged, shifting one of her wings so blood from Asla’s hand wouldn’t drip onto the gleaming feathers.

Adriana bounced to her feet. "I should probably go, you've got more patients waiting. Thanks for your help!" She grinned at Serenade, then avoided Asla.
