Tempest laughed. "I have three older brothers. I'm the only girl and the youngest. It sucks."
"That sucks," Tempest sympathized. "Did you ever get to know him?"
Tempest turned to her. "What was it? I could use some ideas."
"It took so long to put together and I had help from like forty people," she explained. "Pretty much I made myself into a statue and stood right outside his house. Anytime he asked someone where the statue came from they would shrug and walk away. Then when he decided to move it I asked him not to. He panicked and fell backwards, because the statue talked."
Tempest snorted. "That is beautiful. One time I put an air horn right behind the door to one of my brother's bedroom doors, and then when he opened it it blared super loud."
Tempest laughed. "A baby dragon? What kind? I know that earth dragons are very good at camouflaging themselves."
Tempest chuckled. "I almost feel bad for him."
Tempest started. "You're blind?"
Tempest nodded, the realized that she couldn't see her. "Oh. Sorry about my reaction. It just startled me."
Tempest shrugged. "Eh, you could call it that. I have a brother that's mute, so I kind of get it. And my dad is deaf."
Tempest smiled slightly. "Perceptive. I'm Tempest. I'm a siren."
"Cool, I've never met a siren before," Tonakee cooed. She picked up a stick that was near her, pulled out one of her daggers and began widdling it. "By the way when I said I'm from light years away, I wasn't joking, I would be what's known here as an alien. But really I'm an elf."
"Really?"
"No," Tempest said. "I'm from the ocean."
Tempest nodded. "I can always hear it, no matter how far away. I draw my strength from it, and the farther from it that I am, the weaker I get."
Tonakee nodded in understanding, then she stood up, sheathing her dagger. "Done," she said holding a little wooden heart. An odd swirl like symbol was etched in the middle of it. She held it out to Tempest smiling. "I like you and want to keep in touch," she explained. "If you ever want to get together or you need help just press your finger on the middle and say please. If I'm not busy I can meet you back here."
Tempest took it, smiling. "Thank you. I'll be sure to get in touch." She gave the woman a quick hug, then said, "I can see if you can come to the sea palace sometime."
Tempest sighed. "Oh well." She perked up. "Well, what if I put some ocean water in a bottle and take it with me? That might work."
