Parvus: He draws his limbs close to his body when Tseth grabs him, then walks in a circle on his shoulder. He huffs and lightly bats at Tseth’s hair, just to be a nuisance.

Rhiv: for once, his face betrays his usual stoicism. he look genuinely confused. "…Oh? Oldest folk I know is… ninety-some? Seasons, that is." Rhiv looks over to Salmook expectantly.
Salmook: he catches his pater's gaze and nods. after a moment or two of thinking, he responds. "That's… that's 45 in years, I think."
he smiles at Rhiv. "Alex says his world has, uh, stuff! Like- like graveyards! And scaries!"
Rhiv: Alex… Alex said what? he shoots Alex a suspicious look, but he fakes some happiness in his voice for Salmook's sake. "Oh, really?"

Alex: He looks pretty shocked at that. "That's… interesting. The oldest person I know is in their 500s, I think. Years." He notices Rhiv's face when Salmook mentions the graveyards. "Uh- yeah. Salmook asked me what my home was like. We had some confusion on what a graveyard was though."
Tseth: He looks at Parvus, slightly annoyed. "Oh, don't be like that."

Parvus: He smacks Tseth in the forehead and huffs again, flicking his tail. He curls up on Tseth’s shoulder and sulks.
Resh: He chuckles at Parvus. “Now watch him forget why he’s mad in ten seconds.”

Salmook: uh-oh. he didn't make Pater mad, did he? he doesn't want Alex to get in trouble - when Pater doesn't like things, they tend to… vanish. Salmook hugs Rhiv as tight as he can. "Are you sure you're doing okay? You can walk, right?"
Rhiv: he's not stupid. Salmook's topic change is as clear as crystal. but the kid's doing it for a reason - he likes Alex. Rhiv sighs, conflicted, and drops the matter. he still gives Alex another side-eye, though. "I'm sure I'll be fine, Salmo. Get up - let's see if my legs aren't broken, hah." he stands, a little unsteady, but he's up, and he feels only a little worse than usual.

Tseth: He glares at Parvus for a moment when he smacks him. He looks over at Alex, talking to Rhiv and Salmook. He still doesn't completely trust Rhiv- he'll have to watch Alex a bit closer when they're talking.
Ater: He looks up when Rhiv stands. He had been sleeping. He stands up and stretches, before walking up to Tseth.

Parvus: He looks at Ater and tilts his head, chittering. He jumps down from Tseth’s shoulder and raises up one of his front feet, as if he’s thinking about batting Ater.

Salmook: he smiles up at his pater. Rhiv fell for it, haha! Salmook gets to his feet, too, still close to him. "Do you know how much 500 years is in seasons? Because I don't, but I'm pretty sure it's a LOT!"
Rhiv: he ruffles Salmook's hair and yawns again. "I'll bet it's a lot, too. You're better at year-talk than I am, though. I know you'll figure it out." Rhiv cracks his back again, and he looks around at everyone else in the clearing. "So we're just standing around here? Burning daylight, y'know. I've had enough of this forest."

Tseth: "Yeah, we should get moving again. I'm not too fond of staying here much longer."
Ater: He looks down at Parvus, watching him. He crouches slightly as he stares at Parvus.

Parvus: He stares at Ater with his pupils dilated, then stalks closer to him. He raises his front foot again, then smacks Ater and darts a few feet away.
Resh: He hops down from the tree, looking around at everyone. “Sounds good to me.”
Juni: She stands up and stretches, then looks up at Resh. She goes up next to him and holds his hand, she seems to want to stay close to him after getting snatched kidnapped.

Rhiv: "Right then." he leads the way along the path. his grip on Salmook's hand is noticeably tighter, likely because of what just happened. at least Rhiv isn't power-walking anymore. instead, he's moving closer to Salmook's pace, and he's keeping a good eye on his son the whole time.
Salmook: he feels his pater squeeze his hand more than before. it doesn't hurt, but Salmook can tell that it's not a good sign. generally speaking, talking gets Salmook in trouble. but he can tell his pater is tense - it can't get any worse than this, can it?
"You know what I'm going to do as soon as we're out of here? I'm going to look at the stars!"

Alex: He notices everyone moving, and joins the group.
Tseth: He falls in line with everyone, keeping close to Alex.
Ater: He meows angrily at Parvus, about to pounce on him. He doesn't, though, and instead runs to catch up with everyone.

Parvus: He darts back up onto Tseth’s shoulder, still staring at Ater. He lashes his tail a few times and flexes his claws, growling.

Rhiv: he raises his eyebrows at Salmook. it's hard to read the kid's expression and walk at the same time. "Really?" he looks up to the sky. he squints, but it's hard to see much of anything past the canopy. "Are stars here… different?"
Salmook: he shrugs. "I- I wasn't paying much attention to the stars…" he immediately realizes what he just said.
"Well I- I couldn't see them! The trees, yeah?" he looks over at Resh or Tseth or anyone. "Right? The trees were covering the-"

Tseth: "We didn't have much time for stargazing. Besides, we went to rest before nightfall. Anyone who slept didn't see them." Not sure what the kid is so panicked about, but it can't hurt to help him out.

Resh: He looks at Salmook and nods. “Yeah. Plus, you can’t really see much through the trees anyway.” He gives Salmook a microscopic smile, then looks over at Parvus. “Looks like someone wants to pick fights today. Smacked the cat, too.” He laughs when Parvus looks offended at him. “Don’t act so surprised, I’m not blind.” Well, great. Now I’m talking to it like a human.
Parvus: He hisses at Resh, then nudges Tseth and huffs at him. He just seems to be in a really grumpy mood after getting kicked.

Rhiv: he takes some time to process this, and he slowly relaxes the slightest bit.
"Well then… I… hope to see the stars tonight as well."
Salmook: he nods along, but he seems a little more than antsy to get out of Rhiv's grasp.

Ater: He looks up at Parvus, before speeding up a bit. He's walking next to Rhiv and Salmook now.
Tseth: He sighs, petting Parvus a bit. Maybe he'll be in a better mood later.

Parvus: He closes his eyes and starts purring when Tseth pets him.

Salmook: he notices Ater beside him, and he picks the cat up. Ater might be a weird fuzz-beast that mashes his face into things, but Ater is nice, at least. Salmook falls even further behind Rhiv, holding up Ater to his face. "Why are you so… face-smashy?"
Rhiv: he walks on at the same pace, though he casts a few backwards glances at Salmook. he… Rhiv didn't scare him, did he?

Tseth: He watches Salmook and Ater. "Cats do that because they like you. Or they're trying to comfort you."
Ater: He looks a little less-than-happy about being picked up, but he doesn't struggle out of Salmook's hold.

Parvus: He stands up on his hind legs, as if he’s gonna try to climb up to Tseth’s head again.
Resh: He laughs at Parvus. “Watch out, he’s gonna try and sit on your head again.”
