Salmook: he steps out onto the path and looks around. it seems the same as it was yesterday, really, but something just feels off. maybe it's in his head. he slows down a bit, letting someone else take the lead.

Ater: He growls a little at Resh before looking around. He follows some footprints in the direction Salmook, Tseth, and Juni disappeared to just before they enter the forest. He looks back at Resh and Alex, flicking his ear.
Alex: He watches Ater for a couple moments before looking at Resh again. “I’m gonna get some more wood. Don’t get killed by the cat.” It’s a joke, but his tone of voice doesn’t make it sound like one.
Tseth: He takes the lead in front of Salmook, moving into the forest on the other side of the path. He’s keeping a fairly fast pace.

Juni: She has a little trouble keeping up with Tseth, but she doesn’t seem to care much.
Resh: He huffs at Alex. “I think I can handle the little furball. I’ve fought off worse things.” He looks down at Ater and growls back, not really in an aggressive way.
(He thinks the cat growling is funny so he mimicked it✨)

Salmook: he looks around as Tseth walks in front of him. it doesn't feel right being on the path without everyone else. he falls back to Juni's side, trying to match her pace. "What are we going to carry the water in?"

Tseth: He takes a deep breath and starts listening to the sounds of the forest more closely. If the river really was close by, he’d hear it soon. He does slow down a bit to let Salmook and Juni catch up. He didn’t realize how fast he was moving compared to them.
Alex: He smiles at Resh for a moment. “If you say so.” He moves back into the forest to look for more wood. He should probably prioritize smaller pieces of wood… and get some sticks to cook the meat. Yeah, that’ll work.
Ater: He narrows his eyes at Resh before looking back in the direction the others went.

Juni: She looks down at Salmook and blinks a few times. “Uh… I don’t know, actually.” Well, shit-
Parvus: He chitters at Tseth, then starts batting at his earrings.
Resh: He tilts his head at Ater, then sits down on the ground. “They’ll probably be back relatively soon.”

Salmook: he looks to the sky, thinking, and he cups his hands in front of him. "Maybe we could..?" he shakes his head. no, that's not how that works. "Ok, bad example- maybe if we..? If we had a really big leaf?"

Parvus: He looks at Tseth, offended, then huffs and curls up on his shoulder.

Rhiv: is the breakdown over yet? he's not fully sure. he's exhausted, but he'd rather die before he falls asleep. Rhiv lays in the mud by the riverbank. being left alone with his thoughts would be nice if they didn't yell at him so much. "Ugh." he'll get up once he gets hungry. or when something tries to kill him. whichever happens first.

Ater: After staring at the bushes for a while, he silently moves over to Resh and curls up about a foot away from him. He’s still facing the same direction he was staring in, though.
Tseth: He looks a little further up ahead. He can’t see the river, but he thinks he can hear it. “I think we’re getting close.” He says to no one in particular.

Resh: He blinks a few times, then holds a hand out toward Ater, making a quiet ‘pspsps’ sound.
Juni: She looks up at Tseth. “Oh- that’s good.”

Salmook: he squints his ears. hold on. you can't squint your ears, can you? well, he tries to. "I… don't know. Hard to tell when we're all steppy-stepping around. But we're probably close!"

Ater: He looks over at Resh, staring at his hand but not moving.
Alex: He starts heading back to the clearing with a new armful of sticks and logs. He wasn’t sure if he preferred this, or carrying stuff around the farm. No, the farm was better. He wasn’t tripping over roots every five seconds because he can’t see where he’s stepping on the farm. Oh well.

Resh: He holds out his hand for a little longer, then sighs and brings his hand back to his side. He pulls out his knife and starts fidgeting with it.
