"Yeah." Alex gently picked Star up. He carried her to another door. Pushing it open, it revealed a small bedroom. Alex gently placed Star on the bed.

"This really is just a mini house," Chase stated

"Oh yeah. I've had a while to deck it out." Alex pointed to the corner of his bedroom.
"I even got that junker of a computer to work. Of course, I don't have wifi."
"You are some kind of genius," Chase said in awe.

"Only when I want to be." Alex snickered.

"Nothing much, if you think about it." Alex sat on his chair.
"You didn't move the rubble to trick the zombies," Chase pointed out.

"Ya still," Chase said. "Do you have a kitchen here as well,"

"Of course." Alex pointed to another door.
"Through there. I just restocked, too."
"Oh My God," Chase said loudly. He started rambling about how this place was amazing.

Alex rolled his eyes. Star shifted in her sleep, then settled down again.
Chase stopped talking when he heard a small squeak coming from the bedroom. He glanced in and saw Star shifting more in her sleep.
Chase walked into the room and checked to make sure Star was ok. He sat on the bed. He put his hand on her shoulder. "Shhh, It's ok. Just rest," Chase cooed. He looked at Alex. Moving his hand and standing up. "What can I say I have a soft spot of kids," Chase said giving an awkward laugh.

Alex shrugged.
"Makes sense."
"Poor thing," Chase mumbled leaving the room.

Alex pulled the covers over Staar tighter.
"I wonder who she use to be," Chase said thinking out loud.
"What do you think happened to her," Chase asked Alex

"Same as the rest, probably. She just… gave up." Alex sat down in his chair.
"Ya, maybe," Chase shrugged

"Why? You saved that girl. You took her in. You are a great person. Way better than me." Chase said looking at Alex

"Don't. Say. That." Alex ground his teeth.
"I'm complimenting you. It's true. If it wasn't for you Zayne would have eaten Star," Chase smiled
