Character critique: So I was afraid to do a character like this since he might cause controversy.

i actually think this character has a very interesting concept behind him; it gives off a message that anybody can change, but they just have to put effort into it, and changing a hateful pattern of thinking doesn't happen in a day. i like his backstory, but if you're going to write this story from his perspective then i believe the best way to avoid controversy would be to have him experience several things before the pivotal moment that changed him that would disturb him and cause him to question his beliefs, even if it's just for a little while, until he finally realizes the error of his ways. in addition, i would also suggest developing his backstory a little bit more so we can see the events which occurred to him and the way in which he was raised, so we could see how that contributed to his previous worldview. thank you for sharing this with us! :3
