Character Devlopment

So, I know myself that sometimes you have some questions you honestly don't know who to ask to get answers, or you're running low on inspiration for a talent or personality trait. I was thinking this could be the space to ask anyone anything, even if only one person "joins" this it could still be useful! So if you need help on anything, just ask!

For my female characters, I'm trying to give them talents/hobbies that aren't the traditional girl things (singing, dancing, etc.) Does anyone know some more diverse talents and hobbies??

Diverse hobbies and talents? If you give me like twenty minutes I could whip up a list

Any kind of sports, I mean that can be different. Not all girls play sports, so you’d have something a little different!

Cosplaying, I have a girl who does cosplay! Not a very common one in characters in general.

Thrift shopping, that’s another random but unique one.

Camping/hiking, or similar things, like mountain climbing/rock climbing

Cooking! It’s useful too!

Journaling and poetry. To make it strange, make her write dark things.

Instruments, make her play something weird or normal. Piano, guitar, tuba! Or maybe even electric music, so a sound board of some sort.

Collecting, of any kind! Coins, stamps, records, maybe even autographs!

She could be a wood worker, or just a handy gal in general!

Modeling, picking different clothing pieces and stuff.

Magic! Card tricks, water tricks, any kind of magic!

Self defense, she could be really into karate or just learning cool moves.

Hunting, just a wicked cool one lol

She could be a vlogger, to go along with cosplay or just in general.

Video gaming is pretty cliche but I mean it’s a hobby

Clothing design, she could make her own clothes!

A bookworm, fan girl type. So she can read to her hearts content!

Debating, she could do it mostly for fun.

Now just remember, traditional girl things aren't always so bad. Take my sister for example. She likes crosstich, which most would consider to be old-fashioned women's work. But she makes odd ones that say things like "Not Today, Satan." Common hobbies can be uncommon!

How do I make my characters more three-dimensional? I've got a couple critiques that they need more personality but I don't know how to add that.

Depth, backstories, and nuance!
A really easy way to figure out their general vibe is to do the Myers-Briggs Personality Test and the sorting hat quiz and answer for each character, and some more fun quizzes if you have time. Those give a wheelhouse of traits that that character is likely to have.

I suck with hairstyles, but colors, different varieties of brown, same with blonde different varieties, black is another natural one you can pick a specific one too, red/orange, I’m not sure of others
