You know when a character suddenly dies when you least expect it when you are reading a book, and then you stare at the wall trying to comprehend what just happened then you reread it and stare at the wall again, and reapeat the process a few times….

Well my head likes toi go through my plot/storyline years ahead of what ive actually written, (it has actually gotten really bad when that happens but it isnt that big of an issue) so going through this plotpoint last night…. a character died… one of my favorites, who i NEVER intended to kill,

The other thing is is that im really bad at killing characters, villans and heroes alike, and this character is dead, gone and it wasnt supposed to happen i cannot change it and there is no way to resssurect so now im kinda in a shock that this actually happened……………

So you just need someone to talk to, maybe even help you try to change it?

I dont think i can change it……. I do know that the next one to die tho will definetly be the villan who caused it

If i could figure out a way to change it that'd be awesome… but the circumstances it happened under are complex… and i dont think you would understand it

I understand what you are trying to say. Something like that happened to one of my characters. He wasn't supposed to be an evil lying sadist, but with the circumstances that I put my characters in, he had to become evil otherwise it just wouldn't make sense.

Yeah, the character that died on me is a OP character and most of the others powers were exhausted at the moment and due to magical effects the only one that could have helped him was busy making sure he could actaually use his powers so he could sheild an entire kingdom's worth of cities from a massive dark aura onslaught…. he gave his all protecting millions of lives…. in a very literal way which fits him in character but idk what to do about it, not as an author but as a reader it hurts alot, especially with my record on killing fictional people….

Killing off characters happens a lot and its fine if you make the reader sad. That means that the character you wrote was a well written enough that people cared for him/her.

No problem.

Oh man I feel you. Two things. One, write everything down (if you haven't already) so you don't forget. (As if you could.) Second, if you have a writing friend to talk to about it go find him/her and talk about it. If not, we're here for you. I went through the same thing when I killed my protags gf in Gods of Brooklyn. I felt so guilty about putting her through all that (it was awful) before developing a loving bond with her. But on the upside, I'm almost over it now.

Already on it… unfortunately my writing buddies are out of touch for at least another day…
