@ElderGod-Carrots

I do! He’s so cute! So maybe instead of calling him Dingo give him an Aboriginal name like Nullah or Iluka? And maybe instead of having a boomerang he could have a spear and a Woomera (spear thrower). A boomerang works too but it’s just a suggestion! He could also carry around like eucalyptus leaves that combined with some other plant creates an aroma that knocks people out? Just some suggestions, feel free to ignore all of this!

@SpaceCadet_Bongo

YES! I love that last detail with the eucalyptus! He could like chuck into like a building filled with bad guys, and wait for them to be knocked unconscious before beating the rest up with his spear. THAT'S SO COOL! I love your idea's!

Honestly I feel like this Right now whilst taking down idea's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4abcHtjyeN0

Thank's for helping, Let me know if you can help me with other countries ´・ᴗ・`

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lol and thanks! With th eucalyptus he could combine it with wattle or some other native plant like that. I can’t think of anymore off the to of my head right now, ooft.

I have to go out for a couple hours right now but I’ll try and think of some other ideas for other countries for ya!

@bubblegum

Don't forget my greek girl! And france would be interesting for controlling metal, since I am also from france and they have worked with a lot of metal in the past. Eiffel tower, louve, etc. But research first, lol!

@SpaceCadet_Bongo

Hey guys!

found this cool design for a potential African character. Lemme know your thoughts. What Country would she come from? What's her power? (Stealth Maybe?) What's she like in terms of personality?

Up to you :P

@CWPoofToxicRush

Okay so while I would love to help, the first thing that's popping in my head in "American from the Southwest with fire or air powers/something like that cause I've heard both associated with the region", which is competitively pretty lame, but I love seeing all these starting to form and knowing me I'll think of something later so may I just stalk until then?

@SpaceCadet_Bongo

Ok, sure

@CWPoofToxicRush

Thanks my dude!

@SpaceCadet_Bongo

So when we are talking American are we talking American Indian or Caucasian American? IDK :P

@CWPoofToxicRush

Literally no clue. America is really diverse, so they could be any ethnicity. Again, it was the first thing that popped in my head. There was not forethought to that.

Yo, for the Italian boyo I mentioned before, perhaps make him be able to change the luck of anyone around him, I'm takin this from the Italain version of The Evil Eye

@CWPoofToxicRush

That sounds hella badass

What's everyone's opinion on a witch doctor character?

Somewhere in central America maybe

Oh BTW, Here is @AshWillow's Japanese character. Feel free to take a look.

It's private at the time

@Lotus

Hello, I might have a few suggestions on a Filipino character!

I may have to do more research to find something that can relate specifically to cloning, but I think it'd be interesting to have a Filipino character (boy or girl, I don't care) who is an arbularyo or a mangkukulam.

Arbularyos tend to live in deep rural areas of the Philippines and are witch doctors who tend their patients with the practice of hilot, or the use of herbs and massages to cure illness and disease. Mangkukulam are also witches, but practice kulam, or sorcery/dark magic rather than healing. Different from arbularyos, they put curses/rituals to punish others rather than heal. It is said that some mangakukulam practice dark magic to help protect their family and often live in isolation from society. A bit of background for that, though feel free to do more research if you want to!

Another suggestion (maybe a bit more difficult, but don't feel obliged to do so!) could be a biracial character where the cultures of their two parents are mixed? I dunno, I thought that'd be a pretty cool idea if it's manageable.

Good luck on your story! I'm excited for any updates on it, I feel like you've gotten a good start on it so far!

Oooo, how about an Inca boy who controls light and dark?
And an Egyptian girl who can inflict emotions and sense them!

@SpaceCadet_Bongo

Hello Everyone ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ

Sorry Its taken me a while to get back to answer everyone's questions. I wanna say thank you to all of you who have contributed so far, and you should know that all of your ideas mean so much to me!!! ⊂(・▽・⊂).

@Cupcake-Filled-With-Thumbtacks That's a pretty cool idea for the Italian character. A luck weaver could be awesome to use as a character. How would his abilities work though? Why would this work for an Italian character in terms of cultural background (It doesn't have to though)? What flaws could he have? What kind of aesthetic do you think you'd give him? I'll look into some designs myself :D

@AshWillow Thanks for answering my question with the witch doctor character :). Would she be from El Salvador maybe? Also got round to looking at the Japanese plant bender, and it should be available for public viewing now. Please tell me if their is anything you would like me to add to her :P

@Lotus Thank you so much for helping me out with the Fillipino agent. I've been trying to look into it's culture for some time now, so thank you for finding idea's that could very well work as characters. I'll have to decide on which one to pick, but both of them are really good! Also going off on your Bi racial characters having to powers question, the answer is definitely YES. In later events, when half of the students escape from the academy by naval boat, they all go to lead their own lives as one, big, massive family (Some of them even falling in love and having a kid when they grow up). In those instances, those kids have the ability of both their parents powers. Thank you for your help and I appreciate your compliment!

@Fangirl_07_ I Like those idea's! Light bender would be Awesome! He could have like, these shards of glass on his person that push and pull in light if he so desires. What would he wear though? Also, YES I LOVE THE EMPATHETIC EGYPTIAN GIRL. She'd be throwing down hex'es that lock enemies into uncontrollable sadness. AND HER AESTHETIC WOULD BE SO COOL THO! Thank you for those awesome Idea's

Finally I want to get you opinion on two things

One. Should we make this as though these kids have "Powers", or that they have "Magical Abilities". Personally, when tackling stuff to do with other countries TRADITIONAL culture, I like the sound of the latter. It might just at the end of the day, make more sense because it's coming from their countries, sorta, history. Let me know your opinion and why you feel that way.

Two. What is your thought on having a Cambodian character. I have a design right here

We'd have to change his age but…. IDK

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT (◕ᴗ◕✿) - Sunny

@ToxicUtopia

I have a suggestion for an Indian character. I saw your idea, with the character having limb extensions. Well, the thing is, only Hindu deities have them, and they are super powerful. Making a character like this may work out, but it may also hurt the beliefs of some people. One thing I've learned about being an Indian is that people are very protective of their gods, and one simple, innocent idea may cause a controversy. Well, my suggestion is make a character having parents following 2 different religions, and with India having so many, finding a suitable pair shouldn't be a problem. Show the secularism and diversity of India through your character. If you choose a Hindu parent, you can literally pick any god, there are like, millions to choose from. I've always thought that sound bending is an amazing superpower; you can link the character to the Hindu goddess of music and education, Saraswati. Or your character can have the ability to change into any animal of his/her choice; Hinduism, like Egyptian mythology, has numerous animal deities too.
If you choose Sikhism, which is a religion that originated in present-day Punjab, India, you can have a character who is an amazing warrior, and who specialises in a particular weapon.
People often mistake India for a Hindu country; it is not. Majority of Indian concepts have only Hindu perspectives in it. I would love to see an Indian character that takes some of the other religions and philosophies too, like Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Islam.

Aren't Sikhs nonviolent?

  • An Italian girl with some sort of waterbending? Idk it sounds cool. Like you're just chilling and then get into danger and BAM she uses water from the canals to take out the enemy. Or maybe she can control statues and stuff, cuz the statue of David sprinting after someone would make even the toughest baddie think twice about crime.
  • There can be kids from different states and they can control the state animals, like the Wisconsin kid can control robins and such.
@SpaceCadet_Bongo

Hey @ToxicUtopia :)

Thank you very much for your valuable information, taken from your amazing culture. I'm sorry if I originally offended you with the idea and concept of the Indian character, and I just want to acknowledge the effort you put in to writing all of that. I am very much open to other ideas :), the only reason I suggested the Indian character having a Hindu style motif (Instead of say a Buddhist one) is because its a thing I know is very much unique to Indian culture, and I want to save Buddhist motif's for some of the other countries. If you have anything else you want to add to that, do not be afraid to ask.

Thank you :D - Sunny

@SpaceCadet_Bongo

@TheJynnieCity YES! THOSE ARE AWESOME IDEAS!!! Their are moments in the story where some of the other students have to go travel to other locations and track down other potential "Wielders". Maybe the Italian girl could be originally fighting against them and they could have this action scene where she either

1= Takes out multiple students with waves of water from the Venice canal, pushing and knocking them back.

or

2 = Summons multiple statues from the surrounding area to battle along side her, all effectively destroying the other students.

Thank you for those really cool suggestions. I love the statue one in particular, as a sort of more original and unique superpower. Maybe she could at the academy, carve her own statues to fight for her with a chisel. I was gonna save the water bending for Vanuatu (Since their an island nation) but IDK… we will see how thing play out.

Please share more of your ideas v( ̄∇ ̄) - Sunny

@The-Althalosian
Sikhism is a relatively new religion; it evolved at a time of political instability in the Indian subcontinent. The fundamental beliefs include faith in one creator, unity and equality of mankind, engaging in selfless service, striving for justice and honest and an honest livelihood. Originally, most Sikhs were not violent; however, when two of the Sikh gurus were tortured and executed by the Mughal rulers after they refused to convert to Islam, The Khalsa was founded as an order to protect the freedom of their religion. The members were said to have the qualities of a saint-soldier. It eventually spread into a Sikh empire, and they did fight in the wars at that time. Today, the Sikhs in India make up a large portion of the the Indian army, and many of them fought in the Indian independence struggle as well. They all have a bit of that warrior spirit in them. Unlike Buddhism, non-violence is not a part of the rules in their scriptures. Some may be non-violent, but as members of a religion and philosophy, they aren't. This is what I've learnt over the years; so yeah…

@ToxicUtopia

Hey! @TangerineSunset
Okay, let me make this clear, I was not offended😇. I was born into a Hindu family, and legally, I am Hindu too, but I prefer to call myself an agnostic. And your idea wasn't bad, so chill.
It's just that Hinduism is one of the oldest religions in the world, and with it's beliefs and philosophies, superstitions come with it. Long story short, it's backward in it's viewpoints. Like, for example, an Indian author Amish released a book series a couple years back, called the Shiva Trilogy. Shiva is one of the most important and powerful deities in Hinduism, and there are numerous temples, shrines and cults devoted to him. Anyway, this book series tells us that Shiva was never a god, but a barbaric Tibetan immigrant who came to the subcontinent and saved everyone; (imagine how the public responded to that!). It's a series of three books, and many other gods and goddesses are mentioned, but as normal human beings. Personally, it's one of my favourite book series, and I really like the whole new perspective. However, the idea wasn't met by all with the same notion. The author got a lot of praise and criticism for it. Some people felt that a god being portrayed as someone else was disrespectful and was a sin. With a religion having some temples in which women aren't allowed in because they menstruate, it wasn't very surprising to hear all of that.
I think it's a great idea to take Hinduism as a base, but all the same, be cautious of what you write, and take all viewpoints into consideration.
You were right when you said Hindu philosophy is unique to Indian culture, but so is Sikhism and Jainism, and a lot of people don't know it exists. Buddhism, on the other hand, was founded in India, but it has become more significant as a religion to the eastern Asian countries. So yeah, save that for another country.
If you have any other questions about Indian culture, feel free to ask; I am a history and sociology student, so I assure you, I will do my best in answering them🙃.

@ToxicUtopia

@TangerineSunset
Also, I had another idea. India has 29 states, and each state has it's own language, food, festivals, tribal communities and culture. On the whole, there's a LOT of diversity. So maybe you can incorporate some of that. Just a suggestion.

@SpaceCadet_Bongo

Hello @ToxicUtopia (*^▽^)/

Oh my god! You have written a lot to help me with my story writing :D

Again, thank you very much for teaching me more about your incredible countries history, as I do love to hear more about different aspects of the world and their culture. (I mean, for Christ sake's I live in Australia… the only culture there your gonna get is Aboriginal's. Beside from theirs, all you get are white racists……. In other word's, I am quite starved for something new)

Also, thank you for that insight into Shiva, I had no idea how much of a controversy that caused! Due to this, I will take your advice and try my best to carefully wright an Indian Character into the story (Following Jainism or Sikhism), as I do not want to represent such beautiful religions poorly or without research. You talked about India having states with 29 of them having their own language, food, tribal communities, culture and festivals. Festivals really struck me, and gave me a potential idea.

Bare with me, but what if we added an Indian character, that is tied in with the Sikh, Hola Mohalla festival? I don't know the exact way it would work, but I will see what I can do to research more about it. :P

Thank you, Toxic - Sunny

Also, YES I LOVE THE EMPATHETIC EGYPTIAN GIRL. She'd be throwing down hex'es that lock enemies into uncontrollable sadness. AND HER AESTHETIC WOULD BE SO COOL THO! Thank you for those awesome Idea's

I had a side note for her: Maybe she should also have really strong and powerful emotions that she can't control (anger issues, gets sad easily, overly aggressive, etc.). Also she changes her mind easily and her emotions also change very quickly, so she is super emotionally unstable. Also, she could kinda inflict emotions by taking the emotions she feels and almost giving them to others but idk just an idea
