How I draw character art...

Ignore the background's… weirdness. I just did this to keep it from looking bland. Thoughts on the composition of the character himself? Anatomically, that is. I drew this in about… mmm… three hours? Four hours with color? I can't be certain; I didn't time it. I don't know if I'm open to drawing people's characters. I might be. Depends on the complexity of him/her, I suppose. Feel free to ask though, just don't get sad if I say nooo. :P Have a blessed day!

Hmmm… try this? This is the basic background.

It looks quite well, though it is a little on the bland side, im a cartoonist, but i'll try my best to help out a bit! I do think the mouth could have a little more dimension to it, it kind of sticks out to me as just being a slightly curved line, perhaps you could add a cupids bow, or the outline of lips. I really love the shading, but I think a nice colored light source could really help bring a nice accent to this piece! Other than that, this piece is spectacular! keep up the work :)

Thank you very much!! I thought that as I was drawing him, but I ended up just leaving it at that for whatever reason. The background is dull, only because that's the background I was told to use fir coloring by my professional art instructor. Of course he only meant during the coloring stage, but even so I didn't do a decent background or a secondary lighting source. Your feedback is greatly appreciated! I have only been drawing people for about a year now so I'm pretty happy with my progress thus far.
