The soul thing i mentioned is available only for Morphidae, since they are technically souls with magic (these guys are the angels of my world in a way, so there had to be smth that made them special and unique). The rest of the creatures in my world are the typical whisp like soul + body thing, nothing special.

As for the separation thingy, thats a physical process; you would even be able to touch a Core if a Morphidae allowed it (the core looks like a shiny marble thats very hot to the touch - its usually located in the chest, reason why a Morphidae's chest is incredibly warm)
Aside from creating daemons like Rin, there isnt much else that involves a Morphidae's soul (the separation thing was invented by an enemy of these creatures and is considered an atrocity by Morphidae, since it kinda means a fate worse than death, and its highly offensive).

The only thing that does involve the soul and is perfectly normal would be reproduction. Yea, these guys use their souls to do that, since they lack the uuhh.. reproductive organs. What they do is, they heat up their soul until its liquid and then mix about 35% of it with their soulmate's other 35%. That soul mass gradually solifies into a new core, which in turn starts producing the magic layer to coat it (thats when the new morphidae develops a physical body - the core is the most important part of all, so it takes the longest time to be fully formed)
One Morphidae character can create a sword from his Core materia, but hes the only one that can do it, since he was originally born from a stone (long story here) and he's also evolved into an angel already - the guy was an anomaly so he could do a lot of stuff, there he is in case u wanna take a look :0 —> Kiah

Neat! Souls in my world are simply held to the same rules for any living being, with a few exceptions to those not technically belonging to the world or without other means to have children. I'm assuming based on the information on general life of Morphidae in Hanami's pages how 'death' or becoming an angel works only applies to the specie of Morphidae as well? If that's correct how does death work for everyone else, and is it affected in any way by their beliefs, specie, or how they acted in their living days?
In Deilosin, my world, death is affected by actions and beliefs. In which the soul enters a dormant state as it becomes invisible to those untrained to see those of the dead, from there the person's beliefs affects what the extinguished soul 'thinks' is true in death. Believe in something you are judged in afterlife by that, believe in nothing past death and there's simply nothing. This helps support the idea of different mythologies existing at once without destroying another piece of canon lore I have. I actually have a shadowy creature centered around death in my project that are called Starlatchers. Though I think I've rambled enough in this post.

Morphidae dont exactly die, since they are immortal, they just move to another plain of existence. For everyone else tho, death is just that, death. Body dies, soul moves on (or can come back, if they are strong willed enough). One character that lived alongside Hanami was able to have her soul return into the world in order to fulfill their promise, but reincarnation is kinda rare tbh

The actual death for Morphidae would be having their Core destroyed; without it, the creature ceases to exist. Morphidae are scared shitless of having their core smashed, especially if they're young - i mean, they were supposed to be unreacheable, but the fact that they can be erased from existence scares them. A Morphidae's dream is to live long enough to one day evolve into their final form, but in the present day, they barely hope to reach adulthood and have kids. The actual details of what its like to undergo the final transformation are pretty blurry, as no ascended morphidae has ever returned to tell the tale.
Other species have their own theories as to what happens after death, but the idea of a "guide in the afterlife" is pretty popular. What the guide is depends on who you ask, but in reality, all of these are just different images for an Ascended Morphidae - cuz thats one of the things they do after evolving, they dont just sit there doing nothing, they have important jobs to do

Sorry I took so long posting, for some reason I thought you hadn't replied yet.
How many original species do you have, and how many of them are shadow or magic based? My project is fantasy so all the creatures I've made include magic in some way, and about half are associated with shadows/darkness.
My newest creature that's shadowy is the Dicro(die-crow). There's only one, created from ashes of an old world and instability having to do with a big mess involving magic and creating new habitable planets. It's sort of a shrugged off threat until the climax, as few even know of it and the creature up until that point is warded off by a barrier that keeps things from leaving or coming to Deilosin. Though it's a big problem once it gets through because no one knows how to get rid of it for good, and also because it's literally half the size of a large planet. Stabbing the giant four winged amalgamation of a dead world wanting it's home back with a sword is like giving it a papercut. I keep pushing off making concept art for it, but when I get to it I'll post it some time.

As of now, Morphidae and the daemons derived from them are pretty much my only fully developed original species. I'm working on a fantasy setting as well, so i was planning to add some more stuff in the future, like various unique animals that will most likely live in the same habitats as Morphidae. I started out with the basic fantasy world, but i'm trying to expand and get more original, if its possible.

One other specie i did work on for a while are Tricksters, small shadow based creatures that can create illusions. They are made from magic mixed with shadows and are generally pretty weak and harmless. The vast majority of them are the size of rodents but can grow if they find magic they can feed on; the more powerful they get, the more complex their tricks - they can even take human form if they're strong enough.

One such trickster managed to gather a large amount of magic and become what is known as the Oracle, a being with knowledge of everything under the sun. They're the only one that managed to get this big and strong. Here they are —> The Oracle

I also have a basic idea from an earlier draft of the story, which included weird creatures living in the third realm. I cant remember what they were called, but they were the type of creatures one might refer to as demons, bcz they look like various creature mash-ups. Their society is built on power ranks, the vast majority ranging from rank D to somewhere close to B+, if not a full A. The higher the class, the more human looking the creature is. This third specie includes all kind of weird creatures, like ghosts, spirits, mistakes of nature or just plain weird stuff - kinda like the perfect category for the misfits of the realms. I haven't worked on these guys as much as i did with the others, since the original draft was scrapped and i started all over, but i do intend to bring them back
