Hello people of Notebook :D

So I have this OC world called "Binding Wall", where a child from every country (diagnosed with a special power/ability) is taken to Antarctica, to train as the next protectors of the world….. Or so their told. Each child has a unique personality and power tailored (partly, not always) towards their country of origin. Their Headmistress, Miss Byrne, is a posh and quite strict British lady, who expects excellence in the field.

Ummm,,,,, Finland?????

Full Name: Hale Koskinen
Age: 15
Background:

Hale grew up in Turku, on the southwest coast of Finland with his mother and three sisters. From a young age, Hale slowly started losing all hearing in his ears, turning him deaf. While his mother did everything to care for him, Hale wandered away from his house in spite of losing the sounds of the world around him. He could no longer hear the birds on the tree's. However, every time the sound faded away, the colour around him seemed to glow ever brighter and as night fell, he erupted into an explosion of colour, emanating from his eyes.

It was then he realised he could conjure light. He was the aurora borealis.

However, his ability was recognised by Miss Byrne, and one day she and her soldiers captured him against his will to train in Antarctica. Once he arrived, Hale tried multiple times to break out, but to no avail. Now, he has excepted his role as one of the defenders of earth… He just needs to learn his abilities first.

Power: Hale has Aurora magic. With it he can send out light that temporarily blinds anyone who's foolish enough to get close. He also can create "Ribbons" of it, that he can send out and slice at approaching enemy's.

Relations with other Character:

Hale is a bit of an outcast due to his lack of hearing, but when he see's main character Zuri (Agent Kenya) escape through an air duct to escape the facility, the pair became fast friends. Now, he's fighting along side her in the war between the escapees and trainees.

Hale also has a great relationship with Karma (Agent Bhutan). Karma once tried using his healing hands to try and restore Hale's hearing. Even though it didn't work, Hale has since then been protecting him since (as a way of saying thank you)

What they do in the story:

Hale is one of the first people to physically land a hit on Miss Byrne. When trying to get the other students on a army boat to escape from the facility, he was shot in the leg by Miss Byrne. In retaliation, he sent out a shock wave of light, knocking her to the floor.

how about Canada? if you do that would be great! just remember that there's people from all over the world in Canada so if there family has been in Canada for generations they would have very diverse DNA. which could lead to some interesting powers! if its genetic that is. great idea by the way!

Full Name: Philamena Graham
Age: 16
Background:

Since she was 1 years old, Philamena was raised in a Catholic orphanage in Derry, Ireland. Hating the strict rules that the Nun was giving them, She and her best friend Mary would sometimes sneak out and escape to the towns streets, looking up at the sky. However, when they weren't paying attention, a man snuck up behind them and stabbed her Best friend in the back. Before shes could even register that her friend had been hurt, the man started to seize up, and he was paralysed from head to foot. Shocked at what she had just done, she and Mary tried limping their way back to the orphanage…. But the facility found her… and took her away from her best friend…. her only source of closure…. leaving her to bleed out….. Now, Philamena is one of the teams medic's, fighting to make sure no one gets hurt in the same way her friend was.

Power: Philamena has the power of Stunning. She can make anyone she see's immobile on the spot, making them resistant to all damage. She can only stop one person at a time, but she's a prime competitor in one on one duels.

Relations with other characters:

Philamena has a bad relationship with Sasha (Russia) as one time, she and her had a sparring match in "the Dome" and Sasha stabbed her directly in the thigh. She didn't have enough time to react and because of Sasha, Philamena now has a slight limp.

Philamena has a interesting relationship with Rodney (England). She frequently tries cracking jokes with him, but Rodney has kinda got RBF and doesn't get any of her jokes.

What they do in the story:

Philamena acts as a makeshift nurse for a large part of the story. She can be frequently seen trying to tend to over escapees wound's, healing them with medicine and bandages. However, she's put up a couple of fights too. Rin Kuro (Japan) Once attacked Zuri with her Katana, trying to stab her for being a traitor to the facility. Philamena swiftly aimed her arm at her, and locked her in place, stealing her sword, and leaving her momentarily paralysed.

Philamena also sacrifices her life for Mary, when she reunites with her back in Derry. When the facility found her again, they tried to kill her for escaping (Thinking she was evil). In the heat of the battle, Philamena paralysed Mary so she couldnt get hurt, But Philamena died in a grenade explosion from one of the soldiers. Zuri and the rest of the escapees gave her a little tombstone on the bayside, saying "Love will Heal all….".

Full Name: Anjij Davis
Age: 11
Background:

Anjij has lived in Toronto, Canada all her life. Living in her Inuit Aunt's apartment building, Anjii has lived a sheltered yet, fun time just being an average school girl. She and her friends frequently played snowball fights by the lake in winters, but one day she strayed to far away from the rest of her friends, and started to walk along the thin ice. The ice began to crack all around her and Anjij, Terrified, attempted to edge her way around it. But… she fell straight through. Landing in the cold water, she watched as the Ice above her began to seal itself, and Anjij tried everything to break it open….. It felt like she stayed under that lake for hours…. struggling to breath…… but someone saved her. Miss Byrne herself, found her trapped under the lake, and cut a hole for her to escape from. Thanking her, Anjij asked if their was anything that she could do for her. Miss Byrne told her about her extraordinary gift, and told her that she should abandon her current life in pursuit of answers. Awed by the idea, Anjij now is in Antarctica, swiflty learning her powers with every passing day.

Power: Anjij has Freezing powers. Using the cold energy inside her fingertips, Anjij can spread ice onto anything she touches. Doing so, she can (Like Philamena) Lock enemies in place. She's also able to summon ice structures at will, making her very useful in defence

Apperance: (Yes I mixed it up a bit XD)

Anjij has long dark hair (tied into a braid), tan skin and almond shaped eyes. She has a rosy face that some say looks like she's always cheerful. She's quite short (3,9) and slightly pudgy. She wears a traditional Inuit sealskin parka, and wears fluffy uggboots made from Caribou.

What they do in the story:

Anjij one time trapped some of the trainees, that tried to come after them, in a prison of ice. A rival who had been chasing her, Juca (Brazil), barely escaped from hypothermia after she trapped him. Her biggest downfall however was not freezing Rin, when she "faked" her surrender, leading to her getting stabbed and severely wounded.

Yes, they're all provided (By Miss Byrne) traditional clothing when they get to Antartica, if they are not already wearing their's (Like Zuri, she already is wearing her Masai Shuka). They are also provided other things too. They each get to chose a weapon that fits their country and style of fighting.

Yeah it is quite difficult XD. But for the villain countries, I made them because my friends (who are from those countries) wanted cool antagonists. My friend Ayiko, drew my main antagonist Rin in her sketchbook. She drew two designs, one in a school girl outift, the other in a white yukata, both of which showed her wielding a samurai sword. (Hopefully she'll let me show you some of her drawings) My other friend Liam, is Brazilian and wanted a sort of unstable/crazy villain that was a half representative to the Kayapo Tribe (Juca). Essentially, I asked a bunch of friends if they were cool with having villains from their countries, and they ended up helping me with their designs and stories.

To answer your question, I think it might best if I elaborate. Countries, whilst preferring to pick weapons from their own country, have access to a wide range of unique and elaborate weapons. Anjij has a weapon that looks a fair bit like a slingshot. But it has a twist. The pellets that she uses to fire have freezing infusion, which means she can essentially use her freezing powers from range too. Alternatively, she can fire it directly on the ground, making it and icy floor. This can be used for her to quickly slid along the ground, or to throw off her opponents balance.

awesome ideas! good to have a friend from the countries of some of your characters for input. cool slingshot, I just suggested the musket because they were used a lot in Canada and I haven't read a modern story were a character has a musket for a weapon! :)

Age: 17
Background:

Jae-Sun Yi was one of the many test subjects contained in an illegal human experimentation, organisation in Busan, South Korea called "Echo Inc." . An experiment in weaponized electrical explosions (Or EMP's) was taking place in one of the underground chambers and unfortunately….. It blew up most of that area. Out of the 12 over people running the test, Jae-Sun Yi was the only one of them who survived the explosion, (Albeit with life threatening injuries). Upon awaking in a hospital bed (Still Within Echo Inc.) he discovered his right arm was missing, only to be replaced with a mechanical one. The doctor's told him that his left brain had suffered severally from the explosion, and in doing so, gave him an experimental and mechanical, left brain counterpart. Looking at the monster he'd become, he broke out of the hospital (Destroying everything in his way) and made his way too freedom.

However….. Vision was called.

Capturing him on the spot, Yi was immediately restrained and flown to Antarctica. Not liking being in an equally shady organisation again, Yi has been reported multiple time of attempted breakouts (None of which have been successful). But theirs a revolution rising within some of the countries…. And Yi's interest has peaked.

Power: Yi has hacking abilities. Using his new mechanical arm and left brain, he can process information at high speeds, making him great at high speed hacking. While the computers in "Vision Institute" (Yes that's the facilities name, I'm aware its bad) do present a challenge for him, he's able to use they're gadgets against them.

Relations with other characters:
Zuri (Kenya) = Respectful (He follows Zuri's intentions of breaking out of the facility)
Rodney (England) = Tense (They have fights over who the leader should be)
Naomi (Papua New Guinea) = Romantic (They have a deep affection for one another)

His first is his Echo Inc. subject uniform, consisting of a white hospital patients garb (Severally torn and damaged from the chaos of his escape attempt). The other is his traditional baby blue male Hanbok, given to him on arrival in "Vision" by Miss Byrne. (He hates wearing it, as its a reminder that he's captive here)

What they do in the story:

Throughout the story, Yi serves as the surveillance expert in the team. He's able to hack into the security camera's around the facility and alert the team when area's are safe, or when they're riddled with guards. His highly skilled computer prowess is something that is marvelled by the rest of the escapee's, and he is put to good use throughout the breakout, even hacking the air conditioning to let Mei's (Vietnam) poison clouds travel through the facility, knocking out various guards and enemy countries.

Full Name: Zuri Akitola
Age: 16
Background:

Zuri Akitola grew up as a Masai girl in a village a little way away from Nairobi in Kenya. Her tribe was famous for their "jumping dance" (A real world Masai tradition), and many tourists from all over would come to see them. Zuri always seemed to have a fascination with the outside world, and would try her best to listen to how the tourists spoke to each other, picking up pieces of words one by one. But, despite being incredibly interested, Zuri would never try to speak to any tourist directly, as she never liked being to friendly with anyone (She worried that that would lead people to believe that she was weak).

However, one fateful night, a group of terrorists invaded the village and burned almost everything to the ground. Her father, bleeding on the floor from a gun wound, said his final words to her.

"Run Zuri……. Faster than the cheetah….. Get to safety….."

Leaving her dead father, Zuri ran through the Sahara as fast as she could, trying to sprint her way to the nearest town to alert them. It didn't take to long before she realised…. She was moving very quickly…. Like…. Way to quickly to be natural. Seeing this as an amazing discovery, Zuri began using her speed to leap over the trees and ditches, not realising the glowing, floating, teal trail she was leaving behind her. She then heard the sound of a passing helicopter. Assistance?….. But from the helicopter they shot an animal net, throwing her to the ground under its weight. The soldiers from the helicopter picked her up, and loaded her on it, taking off and away from Kenya.

Apon arrival, Zuri woke up (From being partially knocked out by the animal net) in a stark, orange and white room, similar to that of an interrogation room. She noticed she was being restrained by these silver cuff links on her arms and legs, stopping her from trying to break free. After multiple attempts of trying to prize them open, a woman entered the room. She was a tall, pale woman, with mature features and short greying hair. She went over to Zuri and gently pushed a small white headpiece into Zuri's ear. Originally shocked, Zuri noticed that she could understand everything the woman was saying. This device translated other countries original language and transferred them into the listeners. The lady, introducing herself as Miss Byrne, began to tell her about "Vision", Zuri's untapped powers and why she should be excited to know that she's earths next line of defence. Whilst not agreeing, Zuri just continues to nod her head to get out of the chair, and out for freedom. When released, she immediately tries breaking out, but to no avil. Now stuck here in "Vision" Zuri is trying her best to look for countries who want to break out too, and start a rebellion within.

Power: Zuri has an ability called "Spirit Runner". This ability allows her to move at very fast speeds, and jump long and high distances. With this power, Zuri is easily able to initiate combat as quickly as she can get out of it. The only downside is that whenever she uses her ability, She leaves a floating teal coloured trail behind her, that gradually goes away. This comes as a disadvantage to her in one scene where she and Karma (Bhutan) fight Rin (Japan) on a deserted street in Osaka. Zuri tries to quickly hid behind a billboard on one of the building, but Rin spots the teal streak, and uses her Katana's ranged attack (Which involves the Katana shooting out a projectile that looks like it came from a stroke of a Chinese calligraphy brush) to slice the billboard in half, revealing Zuri.

Relations with other characters:
Karma (Bhutan) = Close friends (Zuri treats Karma like a little brother, and frequently protects him)
Rodney (England) = Respectful (Zuri admires Rodney's passion for destroying everything in the academy)
Philamena (Ireland) = Affectionate? (Philamena had a slight affection for Zuri at one point, but that diminished)
Rin (Japan) = Arch Enemy's (Hate each other so much! Rin is racist toward her multiple times, and uses any chance she can get to try and kill Zuri.)
Brandon (USA) = One way admiration (Brandon tries replicating Zuri's leadership speeches, which humorously isn't as effective)

Quote: "I will not allow us to be detained in this….. unjust Asylum…. Its time we take back the freedom we were stripped of!"

Appearance: Zuri is tall and well built, with dark skin and a buzz cut. She wears a bright red Shuka (Tradtional Masai dress) and is adorned with various colourful beads around her person. She also carries around with her, her Masai staff which is a large Bo staff she uses in combat.

Full Name: Brandon Williams
Age: 12
Background:

Brandon Williams grew up in a town a little way away from California, USA, with his single dad and little sister, Sophie. One day he and his sister wanted to head down to the beach one summer afternoon before it closed up, and his dads anger at their instance was getting to him. After several attempts at trying to nag him to go, he angrily agreed. When they got into the car his dad seemed very furious at them.

Brandon watched his little sister place a hand on his dads shoulder to ask if something was wrong. Brandon replied with, "He's just being salty, he'll get over it." His dad then turned to look at Brandon, ignoring the road in front of him.

"Now listen hear! I don't need this attitude from you! At some point, someone will hopefully be able to smack you rudeness out of you, because I don't want my son to turn into an arsehole."

Brandon looked on the road ahead to see a truck speeding along an intersection, not stopping for anyone.

"DAD! WATCH THE ROAD!!"

It was too late…… The speeding truck collided head first into the car, and Brandon was able to see a bright explosion of orange light, before he was knocked unconscious.

When he came too, Brandon was still inside the car, perfectly fine….. Only…. with large chunks of glass rammed in his chest. He tried pulling them out, and they (Bizarrely) didn't hurt. He looked up at his sister and dad…. they were dead in the front seats. When he called for help, people in black military uniforms began pulling him out from the wreckage. They placed him carefully in a truck and he was sent straight to Vision. There, Brandon is still trying to conceive the loss of his sister and father, trying to use jokes and friendliness as a coping mechanism. He's now only just learning the full potential of his power, and while his ability might tell you otherwise…. Brandon still feels pain…. particularly if that's heartbreak.

Power: Brandon has the power of super human durability. Whenever Brandon receives a life threatening injury, a burst of bright orange energy emanates from his soul, exploding outward. This prevents him from dying. After an explosion, his skin looks as though its been coated in bright orange glitter, and only fades back to normal after 24 hours (signalling that he can use this ability again). Brandon is completely immune to the pain once he uses his ability, but any attacks after could lead to his death.

Relations with other characters:

Zuri (Kenya) = Admiration (He thinks Zuri's leadership skills are fantastic, and he strives to be like her)
Philamena (Ireland) = Besties (Both frequently joke around with each other)
Maria (Mexico) = Tense (Maria sometimes scolds at him for being a crybaby, despite Brandon trying to toughen up)
Anjij (Canada) = Sad (Brandon is reminded of Sophie every time he see's her, and begins to tear up. She still doesn't know the reason, and is confused)
Juca (Brazil) = Rivalry (Juca has tried to convince Brandon to fight alongside the countries that are going by Miss Byrne's orders, but Brandon was quick to decline)
Damian (Italy) = Friendship (Damian fought against Jamie (Scotland) who had been trying to kill Brandon when he was knocked to the ground. Since then the two have been close.)

Quote: "I know you guys are gonna get angry at me for yelling but……. FUCK MISS BYRNE!"

Apperance: Brandon is a shortish, lightly tan skin, brown haired boy with blue eyes. He wears two costumes. His first is his bright blue hoodie with white accents (Still with rips from the car crash). He wears this one the most. The second is his Vision costume (a costume that looks very similar to that of a western farm hand). He almost never wears this one, but he's been told off frequently for disobeying the dress code. In terms of weaponry, Brandon carries with him an Native Indian Tomahawk, with a bright red feather attached to it.

What they do in the story:

Brandon does a surprisingly large amount of work for someone that is viewed as incapable. Brandon goes on to sacrifice his life multiple times to save others, making him actually one of the most compassionate characters in the story. One time when Rin (Japan) had Zuri's weapon knocked aside, Rin attempted to go in for the kill…. But Brandon threw himself in front of her blade, stopping her from stabbing Zuri. Orange light exploded in front of her, and Rin looked down at her blade (Firmly wedged in Brandon's stomach) before looking up at him to hear him say, "Nice try bitch!", Before punching her in the face and running off with Zuri.

He's also just been generally supportive to his friends. One time in sparring practise (Prior to the escape attempts) Karma (Bhutan) had to fight against the mighty David (Iran). Despite Karma only having healing abilities at his disposal, Brandon tried shouting out advice for him. Karma ended up picking a Bhutanese bow and some arrows off the ground, and successfully sniping David from range. Little Karma became the talk of the facility, and even Miss Byrne (Who had unjustly placed Karma against David, knowing that Karma would loose) was impressed. Karma had Brandon to thank for that.
