@Lonnie

No I don't have messenger but I think you just tell people it's private

@Lonnie

Thanks

@20stevemad

did you email me?

@20stevemad

@laney I created the chat. I renamed it to Editing Chat.

@Lonnie

I'm not allowed on public chats sorry

@WriteOutofTime

Hey, @laney and @20stevemad, there is a way to do a completely private message. Look for the word "inbox" in the upper right corner of the screen. In order to send a private message, simply type the username into the required field and you're good to go.

@Lonnie

Thanks @writelikeyourerunningoutoftime but I'm not allowed on private ones either

@WriteOutofTime

Oh. If you don't mind me asking, how are you allowed on this chat? It's public.

@20stevemad

@laney how come you aren't allowed on either one?

@"Laney " - To hopefully clear up some confusion, Notebook.ai doesn’t have what’s typically called ‘chats’ - it’s a forum, and has threads (also called topics). The usual differences:

  • Chats: messages appear as they’re posted (you don’t have to refresh the page) and you can’t edit messages you’ve posted. Examples: Facebook messenger, Google hangouts, iMessage
  • Forums: you generally need to refresh the page to see new posts and you can sometimes edit or delete your posts. Examples: Notebook.ai, proboards, zetaboards

The private messages work exactly the same as these public threads, except that only the sender and recipient can see them. :)
