Seeing the guy fell for his trick, Kayleb sped up and, making a wide loop so as to remain unseen while still tracking his scent, followed him into town. The dude was an absolute jerk, but he was a cute one, one worth following a while.
Roleplay
Smick flew Medea's shop and grinned at the owl. He loved all meats.
Medea looks at Smick, and smiles.
"Hello!" She politely greets. A calm aura is given off of her. She stares at him for a little, and notice him looking at her owl quite, weirdly.
"I see your fond of owls," She points out. "I'm fond of owls too. They're quite unique!" She smiles at him. She doesn't exactly know his true intention with the owl, but she's still questioning him silently. She stands near her owl, just in case he tries anything. She feels guilty for assuming things even though she doesn't know him, but she just wants to be cautious.
"Are you not paying any mind to the fact that I'm a species of dragon?" he asked, surprised she didn't say anything about it.
Kayleb watched the guy walk into a little shop just off the street and began to doubt whether or not it would be a good time to watch him, but making up his mind quickly, he sat cautiously on a bench across the street and began reading a Dean Koontz novel.
"I mean I have creatures walk into my store all the time. I don't see why you should be any different," Medea answers him, with a reassuring smile on her face.
Smick smelt Kayleb, but didn't do anything about it (yet). He was anxious without his companions around.
"Thanks." Smick replied, still looking at the owl.
(you guys there?)
(Yeah! Sorry, was distracted.)
Medea raises an eyebrow at his sudden attraction for the owl behind her.
"He's not mine, but he flies her often. I know since he has a random spot of white on a patch of feathers," She informs the dragon.
(i am, just have no idea what to do :P)
(thanks!)
Smick didn't hear her, for he was daydreaming about the last time he had eaten an owl. Saliva dripped out of his mouth.
"Excuse me, sir? Are you okay? You seem to be.. drooling.. a little bit," She asks him, and backs up closer to the owl. She's now questioning the safety for it.
"Oh! Um, yeah, I guess. Just hungry."
"Oh! I have some granola bars upstairs if you'd like!" Medea offers, with a grin on her face.
"No thanks." He says, knowing he needs to get back on task, "Do you have any water here?"
"Of course." She smiles at him, and with a flick of her wand, a tea cup fills up with water and floats over to him.
"There you go." Medea says.
"Thanks!" He called. There was a moment of silence, and then Kayleb coughed. Smick looked at him, gripping the water tightly.
Kayleb coughed again, seeing he'd gotten the dragon's attention. "^cough cough^ come here ^cough cough^"
Medea doesn't bother looking over, and goes back to taking orders. She checks back on the owl often, however.
Smick looked at Kayleb then the water. He poured it on the ground and watched it for a moment. Nothing happened. He sighed and gave the cup back to Medea and ran toward Kayleb, his teeth barred.
Kayleb sighed, tucking his book back under his arm, and met Smick halfway in the middle of the street. "What were you really doing in that tree? I can't have people spying on-" He stopped momentarily, searching for the right lie to cover his little slip-up. "-I can't have people watching me."
"Watching you?" Smick repeated, offended. "Why would I be watching you? I was looking for a friend, Sallow."
"Sallow?" Kayleb replied, genuinely interested. "About my height, Deer hybrid?"
Medea looks at the two, and pays close attention to make sure nothing aggressive is gonna happen. She goes back to taking and making orders, noticing the owl had flown away. It stayed much shorter than usual today. It usually stays until the store closes at 5 PM.
Smick was confused. "Your height? No, he's the size of a cat! He is a cat! But he's made of water. People have tried to drink him before, so do me a favor and avoid water for awhile, okay?"
"Well… just stay away from that part of the woods, and as far as you know neither I or Sorrow exist." Kayleb resigned, turning tail and heading over to the shop. "And yes, I'm getting water."
"Okay, but one time in December an angler-fish tried to drink him and he choked it to death, so…" Smick warned.
Smick dashed back to Medea's shop, "sorry about that," he apologized.
