just small, not necessarily important things about your character…
…that weren't planned

because I feel that at a certain point, your characters start to build themselves in a way, you know?
and sometimes they end up with little unimportant habits or something that wasn't planned.

a kind of an example I guess, Is that my character Vorex was supposed to be a loner kind of person. next thing I knew I was making a cute lil naga boy for him to adopt. wasn't planned, I have no idea why I really made Apophis, but he's been adopted by Vorex and that's all that matters. Vorex made me make a child for him basically. and he doesn't even exist.

so yea, lil unplanned things that your characters just kinda made happen.

A lot of my older characters defaulted as straight when I first started to make them. This has kind of changed, but when I first created Ara, just like a lot of my characters he was straight. Usually with all my characters, I can see them ending up in some kind of relationship, even if it doesn't happen in the story. It was different with Ara though. Every time I tried picturing him being in some kind of relationship it just didn't feel right. Later I was googling stuff about asexuality and as I was reading stuff I was like hm…. this really sounds like Ara.

So yeah, that's the story of how I unintentionally made Ara an aro/ace character.

Nich ended up left handed.
Joan and Nell became his cousins so people wouldn't ship them.
And I made him aroace and Therese a lesbian so people wouldn't ship them.
Jon ended up pseudo-adopting a child.
Peggy and Darius ended up as exes.
Joan lost her pyromania.
Oliver's name changed from Reggie to Oliver.
Nich no longer has a brother.

Skye ended up being Very fun wildcard OP character.
Luma ended up dead, has left a prophecy, and may or may not be a dad…. (I havent figured out that last one cause it literally came outta nowhere…

Sirus had a kid….

Silver went from this enthusiastic bubble to a guy who doesn't give a blueberry anymore…
Numinor went from alpha-who-was-murdered to a possibly-not-dead-idekanymore-rogue…
Allura went from being a loose end that was supposed to stay that way to a interdimensional spy… I think…
Firiko… he just happened…
Alex went from little fearless evil beware monster to a big hearted coward…
Arthur went from psycho to possessed guy being controlled by psycho..
Said psycho went from random ancient spirit to loyal army leader and little bro of a much worse person who happens to be a later enemy in my story..
Another psycho appeared outta nowhere…
He died w luma…
So did the other psycho…
Rio went from random person to a key supporting character so fast I couldnt even blink and I was confused for weeks….
Frost went from warrior to healer…
The other Frost came outta nowhere…
Glace was supposed to ba a random rogue but wasnt…
Need I think of more?

Della and Geneva ended up being weirdly related (Geneva is her half-aunt)
Jon and Peggy went from a side couple to main characters.
Ansel just kinda happened.
Same with Kira.

Oh yeahi almost forgot the weirdest of all for mine… alex ended up being the youngest of six very different sibs which is the opposite. And his oldest sister(last to appear) appeared after I found out about my baby sis….

A lot of my characters ended up being based on myself and the people around me, so that's always fun. I now have a nagging sister-like character who is a skilled surgeon, a dragon raised in a Goodfellas-style mafia, a Gerudo woman with more realistic proportions and a massive sword, and the son of the previous two that is almost uncomfortably close to how I act and think. Oh well, at least I go with what I know!

amy (the most wonderful woman in the world) has gay parents now, I love them.
Jackson has like 4 sisters.
He also changes his career from Air Force Pilot to Private Eye/Shakespearean Actor.
One story went from a musical to a book.
Joan no longer has fire powers.
Leah also has no telekinesis.
Pepper's name is now Winnie, she has a family and no mental manipulating abilities.

Amira became Peggy's sister as opposed to cousin.
Amira has a girlfriend too.
Jon's unrequited crush on Oliver wasn't originally part of the plot, it just happened.

Ali was originally just going to be this eight year old girl who I would kill off to make her sister Chloe depressed. Now, Chloe is dead, and Ali is a sarcastic nine year old main character who refuses to wear anything but patel dresses.
Also, I made it so that her and another character were the same, and long story short, she can transform into a cat now.
