Spiders OwO

Okay, so as someone who hates spiders, I think I've found something I'm qualified to talk about finally!

1. Spiders have too many legs. I, for one, don't really mind most insects. Even roaches don't bother me though they're a little gross. I just hate how spindly and creepy and crawly spiders in particular are. I also happen to be repulsed by scorpions, ticks, and other arachnids.
2. WEBS!!!! Have you ever walked through a spiderweb? I find it borderline traumatic, and even after the web is off, I'll still feel like I have it on me for a good while.
3. Where I live, most of the spiders that get in the house don't have webs. We have something called Wolf Spiders, which are webless spiders that can get kind of big… Like with legspan, think a diameter of 1.5-2 inches for the biggest ones. THEY GET TO RUN AROUND WITHOUT A WEB CONFINING THEM AND IT'S TERRIFYING!!!!!
4. There are quite a few venomous species where I live- black widows, brown widows, and brown recluses. So I guess it's a general feeling of danger and all spiders spook me.
5. Surprisingly, harvestmen (another spider-like arachnid) do not scare me. Their mouths are too small to bite, so I'm guessing that's the reason why.
6. Bigger web-dwelling spiders, like golden orb spiders, aren't quite as scary to me, usually because they mind their own business and make conspicuous (and actually kind of pretty) webs, and they make them outside.
7. My mom is afraid of spiders too. Because of exposure to a parent's behavior around a phobia, a child is likely to exhibit the same behaviors because these situations teach them to be afraid.
8. Primal fear- our ancestors (like wayyyyy, way back) were afraid of spiders too, because they were a threat. So this, and point 7 kind of explain why a lot of people are still afraid of snakes and spiders, and other "dangerous" animals.

Okay so honestly i absolutely hate bugs for many reasons but mainly

1. the word "creepy crawly" describes it best. small flies don't bother me because they're tiny and stupid, but a spider is juust a bit too big to be qualified as a bug, therefore being terrifying.
2. when i first learned about spiders, i only heard how deadly/dangerous they were and how problematic they can be to a human. as someone who hears the word "death" and thinks, am i gonna die????, immediately i became incredibly afraid of spiders.
3. they're not paying rent and i didn't welcome them into my house >:(
4. i associate spiders with the list of bugs that carry diseases, so they gross me out too
5. 6th grade science teacher: the average human swallows eight spiders a year in their lifetime
   me, 10 years old and traumatized: thanks! i hate it

• They have too many eyes and legs
• Up close they look nasty as heck
• They scuttle all over my stuff and get their nastiness on it
• My cat eats them and rips their legs off so she has been contaminated
• They hide in random places
• Their webs are made of material hand-spun by the devil himself

Lol you have wolf spiders too? I'm from coastal Georgia. How about you?

It's really weird. I'm now living 2 hours northwest of where I'm from, and there are no wolf spiders. It's mostly orb weavers and the good boi spiders that keep to themselves.

The climate is really humid where I'm from, but here, it's a more dry heat.
Also just looked at silverback spiders because I'm not familiar with them and I regret it. My heart rate shot up a little when I pulled up the images. :P We have a lot of golden orb weavers (also nicknamed banana spiders, but apparently there's a much scarier spider called a banana spider, sooo we're gonna stick to golden orb)
