I've always wanted to learn about it and play a campaign, but I don't really know how to start with this sort of thing. Any general rules I should know? (Outside of common sense like no railroading, godmoding, etc.)

Watch Fantasy High. It's great just in general but also it does a pretty good job of explaining how things work and the first season is on youtube
