He shifted, still watching. He occasionally heard the booms of cannons.
Tributes somewhere were dying. It was the first day and many were dead.
Corian sighed as he kept watching the everdarkening forest.
No one came by.
He kept watching.
Then someone came by.
He sat upright, silent.
That someone was one of the Careers.
He kept a careful eye on the person, hand on his knife.
They came towards the area.
He watched silently.
They looked around.
He watched them quietly.
They found him.
He looked at them, standing and drawing his sword, just in case.
They looked at him and said, "Well, I can finally get revenge."
He raised an eyebrow. "For what?"
"Betraying the Career Pack," they said.
"I…betrayed no one." Corian said.
"You left us," they said.
"Yeah…so?" He replied with a shrug.
"That's betraying us," they said.
"You have a twisted idea of betrayal." He replied.
"You followed the person who betrayed us and you're helping her. That is betrayal, too, you know," they said.
He rolled his eyes. "Riiiight."
"Oh, shut up!" they said.
He snorted. "Why?"
"So I can kill you," they said.
He laughed. "You can try."
