She had caught Scipio mid un balance and let go of Simon to support Scipio as he caught his balance next to her
Pre Hogwarts (OPEN)
What's he going to do? Scipio watched the man fearfully, trembling violently beside Marie.
The man gazed down at the three kids, dark brown eyes passing on each child.
"Massimo," He rumbled, his voice coming out more like a low growl. "Rydell, and Wood." He pointed to each kid in turn, but held his hand out a little longer at Simon.
"H-How do you know our names? Who are you?" Scipio shrunk back against the wall.
"U-um… w-wha?" he stutters, scared as hell. "W-what's going on???"
Marie followed suit pulling Simion back as well. no one deserves to stand alone. "Who are you" she said, not wavering once.
The man tilted his neck back and forth, bones making VERY LOUD cracking sounds. He cleared his throat with a cough.
"Aw, man it has been forever since I've been human." His voice was significantly lighter now, sounding more like he was in his early twenties, at least. He pulled out his wand - a long, dark ash piece that was carved in runes - and fixed the balcony without a word spoken.
Marie jumped as the balcony made weird noises while being fixed. this was weird… very weird.
The man chuckled. "This isn't even close to how weird it was at Hogwarts."
Simon nervously looked at the man, clinging to Marie. "W-what's going on??" he asks again even more worriedly.
(Sorry for my temporary absence, my sister's fiance caught a snake on our porch and of course I had to pet it)
"Quite a few things. You three have really thrown me for a loop here. Heck, even I have questions!" The man chuckled as he sat down into the air, using his magic to hold himself up into a sitting position. "And to be honest…"
He zoomed forward, meeting the three kids, no more than an inch from each of them. "I hate not knowing things." He lightened up considerably. "So, I just wanted to talk a bit."
Marie put an arm around both of the boys. "how did… how… how'd you know i thought that?"
Scipio was silent for a moment, but hesitantly nodded. He stepped backwards away from the man.
"oh my god. please back up, well tell you everything you want to know… just- please" she said, almost crying. she was very scared.

Simon was really close to crying, clinging to marie and Scipio in fear, trembling like a leaf in the wind
The man frowned. "Little slow on the upkeep, huh girlie?" He smiled a little. "I'm offering you a golden opportunity here. I ask you questions, which you will answer honestly, and you get to ask me questions that I will answer honestly." Another wave of his wand summoned a blanket on top of Luena, who had begun to shiver horribly.
(Just a garden snake, brown, flipping adorable)
"Just ask the questions!" Scipio said shakily. "The suspense is worse than whatever you're going to ask, so just do it!" A flickering forcefield appeared around him and the others again.

Simon stared to burst into tears. "P-please, i promise ill answer honestly!!" he sobs
(Simon: starts crying
Scipio: Oh pull yourself together. He's not currently trying to kill us, you're not injured, I'm not poisoned, and he doesn't appear to be making polyjuice potion with our hair. Wtf are you crying about?)
(agreed)
Marie held Simon and began to cry a little, not full sobs, herself. "go ahead"
(also sorry im typing when yall are and my reactions are late my bad)
The man raised an eyebrow at the short one's bravery, and his inbound need to protect the group. "Huh. Would'a pegged you as a Slytherin, kid. Anywho, I don't plan to hurt ya." He let the forest go silent. Oh he LOVED being over dramatic.
"Well, I'd love to have your names so I can call ya something other than shorty, flame-sy, and flowers. And your age."
Scipio knew the dangers of this, but didn't figure he had much choice. He wouldn't put it past this man to torture him if he didn't answer. "Scipio Massimo. Six." He said in his smooth, slightly misty sounding voice.
Marie stopped crying and laughed. "Flame-sy? thats my name?" she laughed again and snapped her fingers once again, a flame appearing in her hand. "wait but this one too" she added. snapping the other hands fingers, a small trail of water trickling from her other hand.
"Scipio?" The man tested the name, before nodding. "Yeah, that sounds right. And I'm not gonna torture ya kid. I'm not that cruel."
"Her name's Marie." Scipio sighed, staring at the fire. He didn't question how the man knew what he was thinking, as he himself and Luena both seemed to have it as well.
"i can speak for my self Scipio." Marie said, glaring at him
The man stared at Marie. "Well, guess I'll cal you Aang." He smiled. "Unless you wanna give me your real name?"
(Scipio: Well, you weren't answering and quite frankly I don't want to die!)
"And trust me kid, never try to speak up for a girl who can conjure fire. Never ends well."
