shuichi untucked his face " you.. you said you loved me.."

Kokichi could feel himself blushing when he realized that. "I did not…!" he exclaimed. "That…that was a lie…!" He was embarrassed, and he was also just scared of possible rejection or Shuichi leaving, even after what was said, so he attempted to deny it.

shuichi froze. " d..dont say that." he teared up. shuichi hugged tighter

I hurt him, didn't I….? I'm so stupid…! He internally scolded himself for that.

"Don't say what? I was just stating…" His sarcastic tone, his fake obliviousness, everything about how he said what he did, implied that he was actually rather affected by this, thinking he messed up..

" dont say you dont love me, please.. "

Kokichi could feel tears forming in his eyes. "I didn't mean it like that….!" he said, being honest. "I'm sorry…. I told you I'd hurt you one way or another…" He looked down, allowing the tears to fall..

shuichi put his forehead on the others. " i can take a lot, just not that "

"I seriously didn't mean it like that, Shuichi…. If I wasn't a stupid liar, we wouldn't be in this mess right now…" he replied, sighing. "I didn't mean to hurt you… Please don't leave me for that…" His fear if abandonment was showing again.

" im.. im not.." he said and held tighter

"You're really not gonna leave after that…? I literally hurt you…" he said, continuing to cry. "Can you…at least forgive me…? I don't want to make you mad because of this…"

(Frick, now I'm almost crying. I feel this-)

" i forgive you.." he said and nuzzled ko

Kokichi finally looked at Shuichi again, his eyes already a bit red from crying. "Thanks, Shu…"

shuichi nodded, calming down

Kokichi fell silent after that, though he was still crying. While Shuichi had forgiven him, he had yet to forgive himself. He hated how he hurt the one person he let himself get close to, continuing to internally scold himself for it..

The crying kept up for a while, the silence occasionally broken by either an "I'm sorry" or some form of Kokichi scolding himself. He felt so bad about it..

"im sorry too.."

"Why…why are you sorry…? You did nothing wrong…" Kokichi told him, forcefully holding tears back in case Shuichi was apologizing for this.. "Just tell me why you're sorry…"

"What made you think you upset me…? You didn't…" he sighed. "I'm just mad at myself because I hurt you, that's all… It's not your fault for responding as you normally would… I'm sorry for even saying what I did…"

"You say that, but I know what I said was hurtful… I just…I'm sorry for being like this… I just wanna feel like it's all okay…"

" it is.." he said and rubbed kokochis back

"Are you completely sure of that…?" he said, still needing confirmation, though he was beginning to calm down. "I should just believe that, but it's weird not being seen as a problem… If everything's okay now, I just wanna cuddle. I don't feel like doing much right now.."
