So, basically my character will be just wandering through the desert withut a car, then yours roll up in this

ANd tries to rob my homie. Hoever, they get jumped by some crazy(er) desert people, and he ends up saving her, and they go on adventurers with each other afterwords

How long had he been wandering these dunes? Couldn't have been more than a few hours, but in this heat, it was a lifetime. Long enough to get used to the sweat that seemed to pour out of every pore on his body. Long enough to get used to the way the sand grinded against the sides of his toes and the way it flew into his eyes whenever a wonderfully refreshing breeze flew by. His shoes essentially fell apart an hour ago, and his gun was so jammed with dirt it was beyond repair, so he just dropped it in his wake as he continued walking into nothing.
What was his name, again? He tried to revive that part of his brain from the sleepwalking he was doing. C'mon, you know this…..ah, Eli. Perfect, he could remember his name. he found enough joy in this to force his cracked lips into a small smile. He was so absorbed in this joy that he didn't notice the roar of the truck to his left…..

(Boopers)

((Sorry! I just got back from seeing Detective Pikachu with my siblings))

(Was it good?)

((It's amazing. Then again, what else would you expect from a movie with Ryan Reynolds voicing a talking pikachu))

(I feel like my starters suck compared to yours)

((My starters aren't that great. I like yours, this one seems whimsical))

Realistically, Zara knew the desert was hot. It was a desert, after all. That didn't mean she was all too happy about the heat, and the sand, and the glaring sun though. It was a miracle, really, that her truck hadn't just died there, in the middle of the barren environment, but she knew her way around a truck.

C'mon. There's gotta be some unlucky sap out here. She used her glove to wipe at the sand and grime sticking to her goggles, eyes catching a figure. There we go.

He could feel the back of his neck beginning to blister, and decided to stop, putting his hands on his knees out of exhaustion. Eli, he thought, your name is Eli. Why he held on so desperately to this thought, but it was keeping him sane in this barren wasteland.
"Your name," he began to mumble as he stripped off his shirt and wrap it around his neck. "Is Eli."

((Forgive me, once again. She's just. Robbing him?))

(Yep. Typically a robber would just shoot the guy in the back and take their shit, but I'd rather have Eli live)

((Sksksk I mean, it would keep the plot going, if he wasn't dead))

At another point in time, Zara might've felt some remorse about this. She'd successfully squashed most of her emotions though, years ago. So instead of dwelling on what she was lacking, she pulled her truck to a stop, next to the guy? she'd set her sights on, a shotgun dangling lazily in her hand as she leaned out the window. "Lucky day, for me at least."

It took a couple of moments for his dehydrated brain to fully comprehend situation, and another for him to raise his hands at shoulder height and make eye contact with her. A brief moment of rebellion passed through his brain, but the look in her eyes squashed the idea. No way he could fight her in such a weakened state.
"No so much. I don't got nothin'."

((https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9ihypMj01A I'm absolutely obsessed with this gal's music??? This has to be one of my favorite songs ever now, although her Six of Crows song comes hella close))

Well, fuck. She rolled her eyes, slipping out of the truck to lean against the door. "Y'know, I can't quite believe that. You ain't the first person t' try'n lie t' me." She studied the man(she was pretty sure of that, now) in front of her, eyes pausing for a split second on his shirt, wrapped around his neck. If she was being honest, which she never was, he did look like he was telling the truth.

He was around the age of 20 but probably younger with the lean, muscular bodies that all of the survivors had. His face was invaded by a thin scribble of a beard hat was caked in dirt and grime, and his eyes, a dull shade of green, seen to stare right through her. Slowly, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a serrated knife about 5 inches long, holding it by the blade as he handed it to her.
"'S all I got," he repeated.

Zara looked down at the knife, a flicker of something foreign passing through her. She raised an eyebrow, thinking for a few moments, before she handed the knife back to him. "Keep your knife, man. I got plenty." Her scowl stayed in place, successfully concealing any other emotions.

The sound of more engines distracted them from the process, although he assumed the shotgun was still pointed at his head. 3 cars were approaching at a speed that made it futile to try and run. War Boys.
"I think we might need a temp'ary truce," he admitted, turning back to the woman holding the shotgun to his head.

(Maybe she gets hurt and he kinda saves her. Gives them a reason to stick together)

((Heck yeah))

"Fucker." Zara, lifted the corner of her lip in a sneer as she eyed the incoming trucks. "I hate how right ya are 'bout that. This don' mean you're off the hook o' me decidin' what t' do with ya." She warned, before lowering the shotgun.

"Greater evils," he said.
The three trucks began slowly circling the two, the pale, bald teenage boys leaning crazily from the cars and lashing out at the them, missing wildly each and every time. It was more of an attempt of intimidation than anything else, but it didn't work on either of them. When the trucks kicked up enough dust, the War Boys dismounted, 7 or 8 of them all welding various melee weapons that were obviously homemade. Eli gripped his knife tightly as they approached, wondering how long he'd be able to last before they killed him.

"The truck's got quite the arsenal." Zara muttered in a low voice to the man, still looking quite unconcerned as she leaned against her truck. She'd had run-ins with War Boys before, and was fairly certain she could at least put up a good fight. That was all the solace she needed.
