Danny was already in class, sitting in his seat with earbuds jammed in his ears. If someone got close to him, they could probably hear the music he was listening to. He just liked it loud, what was wrong with that? Allison, however, was worried about running late. She had two more notebooks than she needed for the class piled in her arms. They were her drawing and writing notebooks and were very dear to her. Allison took them everywhere. She put her things down on a desk and waved to several other students as she walked over to them. First day of school, let's do this! she thought. For the first day of high school, Allison had a lot of spring in her step. "Hi!" she said, stopping when she reached the group. "My name's Allison. What about you guys?"

Vi was sitting in the corner of the room, her earbuds in and her gaze focused on her sketchbook. She didn't want to be here, why couldn't her mum have homeschooled her like before? At least her mum had let her bring her earbuds and sketchpad, that was a plus.

"Tim, I'm nervous." Margot whispers to her brother.
"It'll be fine, come on, I'm sure everyone will be-"

"Substitute? On the first day?" Tim asks.

Vi sighs and takes out her earbuds, putting them away in her bag and looking up. She gave a small wave and stopped doodling.

"Is everyone here?" Dr. Picani asks.
"There's like, five people in here sir." Margot says in confusion.
"Well, we'll have to wait then, won't we?" He smiles.

Danny looked up at the girl that decided to interact with him. He didn't really want to talk to anyone, but decided that it would be rude to just ignore her. Don't be afraid to make friends. I know you're not exactly a social butterfly, but it won't hurt to try. His dad's words rang in his head. Taking out his earbuds and pausing his song, Danny nodded to the redhead. "Hey." Wow. Okay, I suck at this conversation thing, he thought.

Allison's attention was stolen by the teacher. "Hm?" The distraction was only momentary, though, and she went back to talking to the two students. "You never gave me your names," she said, then realized that her approach wasn't really the best. "…I guess I probably could have introduced myself in a way that wasn't so in your face, though. Sorry…I'm Allison Patrick."

Danny lifted a brow. Damn, she's loud. "Daniel. Usually, I go by Danny. You?" he asked. Honestly, he already didn't want to continue the conversation and half expected the teacher to tell the girl to quiet down.
