Battle In the Night

(Let's just skip to when they are there)

Tolkalee had stopped, and let Seth and Kat catch up. He was standing at the base of a huge tree. Really he was standing on the roots of the tree, it was so big, fifteen people standing arms length apart, could only maybe reach half way around it. "Welcome to the forest of Rothe," Tolkalee said looking at Kat.

"This is the oldest forest on this planet, it has some of the biggest trees know to anyone. There is a people here that protect the forest, so as long as we don't harm the trees they will leave us alone," Tolkalee explained placing a hand on the tree.

"They don't leave the mountains, plus they wouldn't enter the forest even if they did," Seth reassured her. "The forest has an ancient protector that won't let anyone that's a threat into it. But yeah we should get moving anyway."

Tolkalee took the lead once again. They made slow progress deeper into the woods. Soon it was dark, the trees were so think that it seemed like it was dark.

"Lot's though the biggest one runs through the center," Seth explained. "It comes from the large land pillar in the center of the forest."

"This whole forest is a ruin, technically," Seth said. "But a few miles from here are some ruins. The remains of a fortress, destroyed by war."

Seth gave a half smile. He'd noticed her visibly relax now that they were in the forest. Tolkalee had also relaxed when they entered the forest. It was just something about feeling sheltered that made them feel safe. He personally liked the open plains. Even though they looked big and empty, he could still disappear without a trace. "The ruins are just up ahead," Tolkalee explained.

"Just be careful of the people of this forest," Tolk warned looking over his shoulder. "They are mostly friendly and don't mind people passing through, or hunting, but you piss them off somehow, and you'll regret it."

Tolkalee walked into the ruins of an old house and began looking around. Seth stayed with Kat outside looking around. "I was here once before," he said looking around. "It wasn't in ruins when I came in, it was when I left though."
