“Oh yeah I can help, so what do you want me to do”
“Okay” she got positioned
Tolkalee picked up a cloth that he had next to him and relaxed his injured arm. "Once you're ready don't give me any warning just pull the arrow out," he explained. Behind him, Seth shifted and slowly went to his feet. He had his eyes on Tolkalee.
"Oh boy," Seth's voice was only loud enough for Jackson to hear him.
Kat quickly pulled it out with our moving her hand in a direction that would cause more damage she dropped the bloodied arrow “are you okay?”
The second Kat pulled the arrow, Seth launched forward catching Tolkalee's arm and pulling him back trapping him on the ground. Tolkalee let out a cry of pain, then took a breath and tapped Seth's legs that had him in an arm bar. "Thanks," he briefly said to Seth before pressing the cloth to his shoulder.
“Do you need water for the wound” Jackson said urgently
Tolkalee sat up and shook his head, pressing harder on the wound. "No, water risks infecting it, despite how clean it may look," he glanced at Kat. "Thanks," Seth pat him on the shoulder and stood up. "I probably should have warned you, that the two of us have had fighting ingrained into us, so sudden pain can be dangerous for others. I don't know if you saw, but Seth had to stop me from accidentally hurting you, which is why he locked me in an arm bar. You did nothing wrong, it's just sort of the way we have been trained."
Jackson nodded “well do we have any other food?”
Kat spoke “I have some bread but that’s it” she looked over at Seth “do you two have anything?”
Jackson spoke “great we will probably have enough food for everyone” Jackson grabbed a stick and stabbed it through the meat and slowly cooked it.
kat passed out bread to everyone as Jackson was cooking
Jackson just waited silently and watched the buellette rolling around in the grass playfully
“Well I think the best name for him is Gunther” he was happy with the name he thought of
Jackson laughed as Gunther jumped around playfully and attacked the rope
Tolkalee smiled as he watched the young creature playing with Seth. It was like watching a puppy play. "I didn't know you were such a softy for animals Seth," he teased.
"Yes you did," Seth shot back in a playful way. The two seemed so at ease even though they both knew that they were walking into a war zone, very soon.
Jackson sighed as he looked back at the meat
Kat spoke “so Jackson how are you going to keep Gunther safe?”
Jackson answered “well buelettes are born with titanium like armor so swords can’t hurt him. But as they get older they lose some of that defense for speed and agility”
“Yeah that’s fine” she answered
Jackson set out his bed roll and Gunther curled up near the fire
“Understood” as she answered she started to lay down she hoped she could at least get some sleep
Kat started to drift off a few minutes later
The night began to drag out and Tolkalee didn't move. He was listening to the sounds of the forest around them. An owl called from somewhere, mice were running around, and crickets were singing. Then it slowly got silent. Until the only thing still making any sound was the breeze shaking the leaves. That was when Tolkalee stood up and pulled out his bow.
Jackson and kat were still sound asleep in aware of what was going on around them
(Sorry it took me awhile school just started)
Tolkalee gave a short soft whistle and Seth's eyes opened. He didn't move but he was obviously listening as well. Something was watching them, from somewhere, but neither knew what, or from where.
(No you're fine school starts for me in two days so, we may want to move when we reply to this, to weekends just so school doesn't end up overwhelming us.)
Jackson woke up as well he was confused as to what was happening but decided just to stay quiet
