Elemental kingdoms

Ginger rose with the sun, as was her habit. She stretched her arms above her head, groaning quietly. Wonder what kind of food they got at this little inn…
When she appeared down in the lobby, a relaxed grin quirked one corner of her mouth. "How'd you boys sleep?" she asked Devon and Elias, approaching their table. She couldn't resist raising her eyebrows suggestively. "Ooh, food." she grabbed half a toasted bagel, biting into it savagely.

Ciana woke soon after, finding an empty room. She quickly took note of her energy reserves, hoping there was at least a little sun outside. Glancing out the window, it was relatively light, so she wasn't worried. She headed down after gathering her bag, noticing the food. "Oh, thanks. Are we all here?"

Elias had joined Devon not long before Ginger did, "oh, he ignored me all night, didnt think he was that tired", he said crossing his arms.

"I wasnt" Devon said plainly, finishing his food and pulling out a map, marking where they were and the best path to get to the center of the ice kingdom, one that avoided crowded areas, but was quick enough. "I assume, as you are from the fire kingdom, you can keep yourself from freezing until we get inside the keep," he looked at Ginger, "it stays below freezing point between here and there, I can protece myself and Elias from it, As I originally planned for".

Ciana frowned but didn't seem worried. "I should be fine, I've had a fair amount of temperature regulation training. I'll wear a couple layers just in case."

Finishing her bagel with speed-eating prowess, Ginger wobbled her hand to indicate a maybe. "Ehh, temp regulation isn't a strong suit of mine. I might need to buy some layers. I can sort-of keep myself warm; it's just not easy, ya know? it's honestly easier to stay cool in warmer regions. I guess 'cause being from Fire makes me more like, I don't know, accustomed or resistant to intolerable heat?" After a pause for thought, she spoke again. "But it shouldn't be a big deal. I'll buy some gear when I can, it'll be fine." She nodded, assured.

Devon looked at Ginger with a slight frown, "you are from the fire kingdom, royalty, which are said to have power over fire. So can you not control fire?"

Ginger rolled her eyes a little. "Yeah, duh. But it's not like there's a while lot of fires out on the road in the Ice Kingdom. And anyway, I'm mostly hypothesizing. I might be just fine out there in the cold, but I dunno." She scanned the table. "Any chance I could get more food?"

(time skip to on the road? Possibly to when ciana gets snatched?)

After breakfast, the princlings (gender neutral for princes or princesses) started off to get to the ice castle. Ciana had eaten a lot to help with energy, and had raised Ginger's illusion before they left their room. As they went, the kingdom got more populated and the air got colder. At some point, they stopped to get lunch. Ciana ordered something generic off the menu before excusing herself to the bathroom.

(I think we have some time for that, as ciana and ginger are gonna be snatched by bounty hunters sent from kingdoms wanting to start a war)

(I figured. But also, Devon needs ginger and ciana alive, and the nabbers motives will not be clear-)

(maybe they figured those two could be most influential? or it was random; yk, grab two of them and go, it doesnt matter which)

( it was because ciana was so secret, they figured it would anger the light kingdom a lot if she dissapeared, and when Ginger's disguise fell, a different group thought she was ciana without looking closely. However, we could change the reason.)
