Veena stepped forward excitedly, a step or to ahead of the others, her earlier hesitation forgotten. This is what she wanted, not a single doubt in her mind now. This was her destiny.
Magic Born REBOOT // ??? How many are left??
(yay, they're leaving finally haha)
Luna nodded and followed the rest. Anytime she entered the outskirts of the forest the smell of the greenery and fresh air in the was intoxicating. And now she was finally going in. She didn't look back, didn't even think of what was behind her, what she was leaving behind. She only thought of forward.
The boy stuck close to the group, clutching the leather strap of his bag with both hands till his knuckles were white. Even though he had decided to leave, deep in his heart he still felt a bit of doubt and fear directed at what lied ahead. He inhaled deeply, looking around at everyone else and thought to himself that as long as he stayed with the others, nothing too bad could happen.
They were in it together
Josiah slipped behind him, having noticed the worry on his face. “Do not be afraid,” he said, quietly enough so no one else could hear, “I’m watching out for you. Doubtless so is everyone else.”
(Man this went better than I expected.)
Adayu turned his head around, slightly startled by Josiah's unexpected appearance behind him. He opened his mouth a few times to say something but the words refused to come out. In the end he took in a deep breath, swallowing the spit in his mouth and whispered back, in the same quiet tone.
"Thank you"
Josiah nodded, both a friendly and grave look in his eye. “You are always welcome,” he said. And with that he strode forwards until he was walking next to Luna. “Finally off,” he murmured. “And how do you fare?”
He looked at her, his face unguarded. “I too fear. But it would not do to show the others. Leaving the home of our youth fills me. It is a mixed drink of heartache and an anxiousness I cannot explain.” He stopped. “And yet,” he said, placing a hand on her shoulder, “I feel a certain lightness. A warmth.” He looked deeply into her eyes, “Surely you feel it too.” And she felt a voice, she knew not from where, urging her to agree, his eyes, gazing piercingly at her, as aloof and powerful as the sun.
((Lol bruh, i reread some of the info in here and realized my poor boi is the only one that's very young, everyone else is 17 or 18. Poor child lol))
After the brief word exchange with Josiah, Adayu never made another sound, instead walking close to the back of the group, allowing the rest to take the lead and talk between themselves. It wasn't that he didnt want to talk, he just didn't know what to say.
For now all he could do was walk silently behind them, with his ears perked, catching glimpses of their conversation
Almost there. Fallon grinned as she caught sight of the tree line, just past the last few houses. The extra company wasn’t something she’d expected, but she would be glad to get moving again. Besides, company was always nice.
Things couldn’t be that easy though, apparently.
“What is going on!” The shout came from behind them, an older looking woman standing in the road and frowning so hard it looked like her face might have been stuck like that.
(So… Luna’s getting hypnotized and we have a tail.)
Veena had already disappeared into the trees, only the sound of her laughter filtering through the leaves, alerted the group to her presence. At the shout, she reappeared, quite suddenly, at the treeline. Eyes wide with horror, she looked to her other companions, looking for an excuse that wouldn't get them all thrown back into their homes.
(Oh shit, I was part of this-)
(Hop on yo.)
(It’s probably your relative if I remember correctly.)
(Can someone link the old rp so I can grab my character?)
(It’s probably your relative if I remember correctly.)
(Also, everything in that statement went ove rmy head.)
(I thought your character had a grandma.)
(He does, I think.)
Being at the back of the group, Adayu was the first one to see the woman behind them. Slightly startled by the tone of the shout, he hurried over and hid behind the group of teenagers, afraid the woman might come for him first.
" . . . Yes," Luna said slowly. She nodded. "A warmth." The shout startled both the teenagers and Luna unintentionally broke free, turning to look behind her. She moved to stand in front of Adayu. "What do we do?" she muttered to Josiah.
Veena darted out of the woods to stand next to the others. She looked pale, paler than usual actually, the sunlight of the morning seemed to go through her, as she wrung her hands anxiously. "Oh man, we're in so much trouble."
“Running is the last thing you want to do.” Fallon said, slipping through the teens to place herself at what had been the back, like a barrier. “Just keep going. Going for a little walk!” She called out to the woman, with an odd ease. The absurdity of the obvious lie gave the woman pause, and Fallon motioned for the group to keep walking.
Hesitating, Veena looked from Fallon to the old woman and back again. This was not going to end smoothly. She had a feeling deep in her gut that they were going to have to run. Anxiety made Veena hold her breath as she turned back towards the forest again, following Luna quickly.
Josiah stayed at the back. He wasn’t sure what kind of a game Fallon was playing, but he was not so sure it would work. He kept an eye on the younger ones, especially Adayu. But his gaze brushed over Luna. He felt something strange. What had happened? He was almost certain something had happened… He shook his head. No matter. There were more important things at hand.
