The Deceiver and the Liar (O/O Closed, Stalkers welcome)

Before I begin, I just want to say that I'm a bit of a picky RPer. As much as I'd like to stretch my style and try new things, it's hard to work with an RPer that doesn't seem to be involved. Additionally, I appreciate flawed characters, but I don't appreciate characters that would rather sit in a corner and cry than do anything. (Also, let's avoid Mary Sues/Gary Stews).

That being said, if you're still reading this, cool! It only gets worse. What I have in mind requires you know at least a bit more than common knowledge about the Fae/Faeries. Maybe your character doesn't know, but at least you know. If you don't, this might be difficult.

So!!! Onto the setup

You're a human (or another human-like race, but not a faery) and you know that faeries have been spotted near where you live, but you didn't pay much attention to it; instead, you're causing mischief by lying and stealing from the townspeople to make a living. That is, until you stumble across someone who seems to be doing the same; but they never actually lie- something that you're a professional at. How do they trick people without lying?

Name: She goes by Até (goddess of deceit, delusion, and mischeif) but that's not her real name.

Personality: Honorable and mature, chaotic neutral, can't be bothered with petty things, she'd usually only care about herself but that's only because she currently doesn't have any personal attachments. She's also charismatic, able to use creative tricks to profit.

Amazing! I'll go ahead and start us off

Lively, I approach the lady, singling her out in the crowd, as she locks eyes with me. I maintain eye contact, holding out my hand and whispering,
"As we agreed,"
The woman shakes her head, fighting back tears as she turns away from me defensively.
"Please, I need to feed my children."
I drop my hand to place both onto my hips, clicking my tongue and shaking my head scoldingly.
"You should have thought about your children when you asked for my help."
She stretches a bony hand out, shaking with fear and regret, as she opens her palm, revealing two gold coins. I grin widely and take the coins, placing them into my pouch.
"That wasn't so hard, was it? Now, may I at have your name, please?"
"I will not give you my name."
My smile remains, but the smile in my eyes fades.
"Very well, next time, then."
I turn around and leave before she can protest, holding my words against her as I feel her eyes watch me leave.

I must have been too preoccupied in thoughts as I tangle through the crowd, that my shoulder lands directly into someone else's shoulder. I freeze in my tracks and turn around to face the boy, locking my gaze into his hazel eyes. I hesitate to speak, wondering if he would speak first.

( Of course! That's totally fine )

"That's no way to speak to a stranger." I tilt my head upwards, looking the boy up and down as I cross my arms.
"I think an apology is due, maybe accompanied by more next time." I chime, practically floating in confidence as the crowd begins to disperse, the sun beginning it's departure towards the horizon.

I raise an eyebrow and tilt my head to the side.
"Is that a deal, then? Shall we shake on it?" I hold out my hand with a growing grin spreading across my face. Though I should be leaving the town square soon, I planned to see this boy again. He did suggest the contract after all.

I furrow my brow, turning away from him but not breaking eye contact. Sarcasm? Surely he meant what he said. Why wouldn't he?
"Your words will imprison you someday…oh, well I never got your name." I straighten my posture and hold my chin up, raising my falling hand back up to offer a shake.
"May I have your name, please?"

I cross my arms, sticking my neck out as I bounce with my expressions.
"Very well, next time, then. I'll watch where I go, and you will treat a stranger like me much more kind from now on."
I turn around in a huff, the square now practically empty as street lanterns lit up, causing a warm glow to fall upon the area. The glow of the moon accompanies, but it only dominates where the civilization isn't. I didn't actually plan on returning home tonight; not anymore.

"You're very welcome."
I whisper, not really caring if he heard me or not. Instead I dip through the buildings, following the direction of the boy's path. I wait behind the shadows as he comes around the corner, but I hide myself well, letting out a gentle giggle, patiently awaiting behind a nearby tree.

Lively, he seems frustrated. Will he ever enter a building to presumably be his home? I tilt my head in curiosity, interested in his evening plans. The moon's glow eased onto my hands as I step out of the shadows.
"Is something troubling you, mister?"
I hold my hands in front of me politely, standing up straight and displaying a friendly smile towards him.

I grin at his startled expression.
"Well we had an agreement, didn't we?"
I chime, raising my eyebrows with an ever-growing smile.
"I'll watch where I go, and you'll be nicer. Now, it's bad manners to ignore my question, is it not?"
