Maddie made the knife disappear. "Good. Then I'm going to my mother's tree."

“Do you need me to accompany you?”

"No. I'd like to go myself." Maddie walked inside and put a cloak on. "I'll be back whenever I'm back."

“Please don’t be long.” Andion replied

"You know how far away it is. I'll be gone a while." Maddie went into her room and grabbed a bag, placing both hers and her mother's crowns.

“Hurry back then, please. You know it’s unsafe at night.”

"I can protect myself, you know. Just because I have a bodyguard doesn't mean I can't."

“I know, doesn’t stop me from worrying.”

"I'm leaving now," Maddie said, going down the the base of the tree.

(OK so I'm thinking that people try to rob Maddie while she's at the tree, and maybe Andion had followed her so he jumps in to save her?)

Andion didn’t respond only waited until Maddie was further away before jumping down from the tree and slinking into the shadows, following here at a safe distance.

As the forest was dark, Maddie made a ball of fire in her palm to light her way. Nighttime was the best time to visit her mother's tree.

Andion stayed out of the way of Maddie’s light, keeping into the shadows so he wouldn’t be seen.

Maddie stuck her free hand into her bag, feeling her mother's crown, making sure it was there.

Andion sighed through his nose and kept walking, constantly checking around for any danger.

Maddie finally reached the tree, a huge willow tree. She took her mother's crown out of her bag and placed it softly on her head. She bowed her head and thousands of little lights appeared in the tree's branches and leaves. She smiled, putting the crown back in her bag.
