"No, besides, if Zafrin wins, we should be close by so he doesn't get ticked."

(If you look around, you’ll notice dome shaped buildings scattered around, with a decent amount of distance between them. The farther from the hill you get, the closer the domes will be to each other. The whole place is basically one big quiet town)

"We shouldn't get too far away. Besides, Zafrin could get peeved if we left."

The blade segments that scattered wild returned to the blade’s stem. Daniel breathed heavily as his right arm was his dominant one, thankfully it wasn’t the heat source of his power. He jumped at Zafrin with the Infernias ignited with purple flames.

Zafrin flapped his powerful wings, sailing over Daniel with a wince as the wing that was cut moved. He was now behind Daniel, and sliced at his back with the whip, though he did so with less power than you would expect, as he wasn’t trying to kill Daniel.
(Fun fact: Because the whip is icy, it numbs the areas that have been cut by it, so they actually hurt less than they should)

Maybe due to the temperature around Zafrin, the whip did more damage than it should’ve. Daniel’s flames were now blue and he started to slow down. He recovered from the hit quickly, then turned to slice Zafrin’s torso.

(Well, maybe not true for Daniel ‘cause the lower the temperature, the weaker he is against the damage)

Zafrin cried out in pain as the blade sliced at him, but thanks to the mist still surrounding the blade was freezing when it hit him, no longer covered in flames. Zafrin back tracked quickly, a gust of wind following as he pushed himself away with his wings. He summoned his magic, his wounds beginning to bleed magic slower as the magic was pulled into his fists. He cast a spell, and ice covered his wounds, numbing them and making sure no more of his life essence floated away.

Daniel started to shiver and get frostbite on his arms. He was no longer wanting to attack Zafrin, now wanting move away. His flames were now yellow, a normal flame. He created a last line of defense, a fire wall to block Zafrin from getting to him as he jumped away from the scene.

Zafrin didn’t follow. He used ice to put out the firewall before it could burn too much of the plants around, but let Daniel go as he knew he wouldn’t be able to defeat him without backup.

After getting away from Zafrin, Daniel’s flames returned to being white. He burnt the frost on his arms without a problem but the cuts didn’t go away.

Cammie watched all of this.
"Well, I guess it's over."

Out of nowhere, a portal opened for Daniel, consuming him in and taking him back to his actual dimension.

Cammie gasped, but hurried on, praying that wouldn't happen to her.

Zafrin panted, pulling his robe back on, his wings sliding through folds in the back. He flapped his wings and easily flew over to Cammie, creating icy chains that wrapped around her feet once more.

"Do I get brownie points for not running away?"

Zafrin ignores the question, making sure the icy chains have Cammie secure before recreating Thomas’s chains.

"I take that as a no…" Cammie focused on not thinking about going anywhere.
