Alexa turned her head to see a sticker-covered laptop. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't notice it there." Alexa said as she got her stuff up and moved to another bed hoping no one had claimed it.

I plopped, still irritated, down on the bed then pulled my laptop closer. Mum would want to know I got here safely since she still treated me like I was five.

I opened my laptop and typed in the password once it loaded up. I clicked on Skype and messaged my mother, before going to look at my classes. Ones I've already taken. Of course.

I decided to make friends even though we might have gotten off on the wrong foot. "I'm going to get a snack, do you want anything?" I asked her while looking at the time on my phone, remembering the time difference between here and Greece.

I went into the kitchen to make some sandwiches and get some chips from the fully stocked pantry. I also got two sodas and made her way back to the room. I put the things on top of the mini-fridge and got a soda before settling back on the bed. "The food is here. This stuff looks like the off-brand type that I used to drink in Greece when I was thirsty." I said while adding a slight chuckle.

"Yea, this is the first time I've left the country. My parents were super strict but now after the war, they have a lot of things to clean up and can't do that with me in the house." I said while looking down, not wanting her to see my tears. I was crying the second I stepped into the plane because I loved my mothers and missed them but I had to leave or else I would have to take care of myself.
