Dandelions sprung from the grass.
They swayed in the breeze
as the trees did.
They only knew how to spread.
They didn't kill each other
as animals did.
They spread their glow to the world.
They made people smile
as beauty did.
They didn't know what they signed up for.
They didn't ever murder
but humans did.
Their life was cut short by greedy hands.
They began to die off
as all things did.
They were soon gone, those poor Dandelions.
But the humans wouldn't stop.
They never did.
They kept going for years on years
carrying a bouquet of the dead
As the Earth once did.
Soon they found a wasteland
Beneath the petals burned
as the fires did.
Nothing left of "beauty" in the world.
It made humans cry
as sadness did.
And they deserved it.
