The links on the cuffs binding them start to heat up, and they explode. It doesn't start any fires, or damage anyone else, but it propels Ash and Joviel back. Joviel catches himself in mid-air, hovering, but Ash is propelled at breakneck speeds, into a nearby tree, with enough force to break the bark and crack.
