So I have a story to stop this awkwardness…
Before much is said, me and this dude, I'll name him… James. We have been friends for almost 11 years and we probably will continue to be friends to at least the end of high school. So back in kindergarten, I met someone. We instantly became very good friends. I probably 'liked' him too, like how little kids do. James and I were like that through 1st grade too. Then in second grade, we were just friends, with one other person. We stayed very good friends throughout elementary school. Then in middle school, we weren't as close, but we were still really good friends. The problem was, starting in 6th grade I think, that everyone, I mean everyone, shipped us. They would ask me like "Are you going to date James" "You and James would look so cute together". I hate/hated that so much because I would NEVER want to date him, he's not my type at all! It will probably continue for as long as we are friends, which is stupid.

i find it helpful to be a little infatuated with your characters. since eric and declan are together, i describe them through the other's eyes, and obviously, eric notices lovely things about declan and vice versa. and it doesnt feel organic if you don't love your characters.

i actually loosely based declan on julian but made him hot in a different more refined way so if declan came to life i think i'd probably combust
