Yoohoo! Big summer blowout! :]

Yikes, I can hear him in my head :3

@WriteOutofTime

my biggest frozen complaints are:

  1. Anna is a more ditzy, less interesting version of Rapunzel. I adore Rapunzel, but she was this close to being annoying. Anna crosses that line.
  2. Elsa's powers make even less sense than Disney logic usually does. I know, it's a kid's movie, but the lack of limitations/explanation of her power is just glaring. She can make dresses? Create life? And she was just born with it?
  3. Pacing issues. It starts out relatively interesting, but then we spend half the movie with Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf wandering through the woods. Considering how annoying all three characters are, this part of the movie feels loooong. Not enough happens in the movie to constitute its length.
  4. The lack of a proper villain is also disappointing. I liked Hans at first, but after a while, his motivation started to make less and less sense. Okay, he wants the throne because he feels inferior to his older brothers. He relates to Anna. Then he goes from "okay, marry a princess, become king" to "straight up murder both princesses and just assume the throne". It's inconsistent.
  5. All songs besides Let it Go and For the First Time in Forever reprise are just not good.
  6. Comedic timing was off for every character.
  7. Color scheme was Snyder-esque. All gray and blue hued. Lifeless.
    This list is getting to long. I think you get my point…

Good stuff about Frozen:

  1. Costume design/hair design. Beautiful.
  2. Elsa's powers were lovely.
  3. Hans started out interesting. He was such a great guy. Gave soup and blankets to the citizens, actually cared about Arendelle, led when both princesses were MIA…
  4. Sven was okay.
  5. Idina Menzel has some pipes!! Although she sounds a bit old for Elsa, she can really sing.
  6. Sister relationship/true love=doesn't have to mean romantic love was nice and refreshing.
  7. Mmm, can't think of seven things.
@Masterkey

^Those complaints are exactly mine

You're very right! The color just didn't quite hit off right. And they've done good snow schemes!

True, friend, true.

The songs really drove me nuts. The score is great in some parts though

@Natasha

OH. MY. GOODNESS. GUYS WHY ARE YOU………………………………..LIKE YOU SAID IT'S A MOVIE MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR KIDS. WE DON'T QUESTION LOGIC. and I, for one, did love the sisterly love, being and the older sister to to sisters and a brother myself.

I also love Tangled. I want to like Frozen because I love the cast, but I agree with all of @writelikeyourerunningoutoftime’s points.

The Emperor's New Groove is so funny. Idk why it wasn't more successful. It had me dying laughing.

It was from what they call "The Weird Period". And Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter were coming out at the same time.

YES! Big Hero 6! The Concept art was awesome!
Also, what's your favorite Disney villain song?
Has anyone seen Secret of the Kells, Song of the Sea, or The Little Prince?

Friends on the other side is my fav. :)

I think for me it would be either Hellfire, Be Prepared, or Friends on the Other Side.

Be Prepared, hands down.

If you look at the cast for most Renaissance and today's Disney films, you'll see the name Jim Cummings in almost every one of them. It's hilarious.

And he's Hondo Onaka from Clone Wars

OH YEAH I FORGOT ABOUT HELLFIRE!!! I love that one

That is so dramatic and dark :)

For villain songs, my first choice will always be Poor Unfortunate Souls, but I also love Snuff Out The Light, a deleted song from Emperor’s New Groove.
