What makes anime so good?

…Well why do you like Harry Potter?

It s because we like certain aspects in anime that we don't find in american shows.

Cus of the worldbuilding around it it's intriguing

Well Anime has something for just about everyone. It's full of cute things, scary things, and pretty things. It pulls you into the story and sometimes makes you sleep with the lights on or it'll put you in a bad mood for the rest of the day. But its also full of humor and fun, and that's the reason why some people like it. It has so many fandom groups too.
Anime genres stretch far and wide, so there is always something that you are looking for. And it has pretty cool drawings and graphics.

I guess it bothers me how much they sexualize the characters

Hhm, yeah but alot of other shows do that too.
You have to find the right genre because they usually don't sexualize things unless you're in the echii(pervy) genre.
(But they do throw in a dirty joke or accident sometimes, but anime isn't targeted at kids, it's targeted towards mid to older teens)

I just started watching anime, and I'm mainly watching ones that aren't v sexualized. My friends have this thing called "Katherine Appropriate" (started because I don't swear or make dirty jokes and I'm not into that kind of stuff), and they generally suggests animes to me that wouldn't make me uncomfortable, so not a lotta sex or other inappropriate stuff going on there. The "worst" one by those standards that I've watched is Ouran High School Host Club. But as for animes that aren't super sexualized, I like My Hero Academia, Your Lie in April… and there are def a few more I've watched but I'm totally blanking on them rn.
