I think it's cause we know what we should be doing…but it's SO. FRICKN. HARD. to actually believe it. ;-; Esp if you're just like, "this is life now. I'm never getting better. lol." Also, a lot of this for me stems from my inability to hope or be hopeful. Like…I've predicted enough situations correctly to where I'm like, "There's no way anything positive is gonna come my way any time soon. cue the 'Guess I'll Die' meme"
which is mostly in jest, but at the end of the day there's still that little hint of deep seeded fear that like…nothing's going to change or get better.

One of my mental tricks, that I've found works kind of well when things get overwhelming for me is to stay positive out of spite. Not because you feel happy or that you think you deserve it, but it's because it's directly opposite to what you feel you deserve, and f-it, you're gonna have the happiest day you possibly can and the thoughts egging you to sit and wallow in your problems can suck it. They can't tell you what to do. (That being said, it doesn't mean that you have to suppress every other emotion that you have. It's healthy to have a good cry every now and then. Don't feel ashamed to do it.)
