Question is that were you have to get real world experience by getting a job for a certain amount of time. Because if so I have heard of it.

Yeah, we get a job for two weeks and then go to them instead of going to school. We can pick almost any job we like, except for things like working at the police or something like that. During these two weeks we can either have one job throughout both weeks or one job per week. We don’t get paid. We all have to find working spots ourselves, so we had to write CV’s and stuff and then email them to places we wanted to work.
I’m going to work at a bookshop for one week and then at a book publishing company the second week.

That sounds like something we have in Australia! Well, In SA, anyway, I dunno about the other states. Only we do that in year 10 so I'll do that next year. It's slightly different where the teachers help us pick and we can go to work with our parents, depending on what it is and it's only for a week. it's for a course called PLP (personal learning plan)

Also, we can work with our parents if we want to, but they usually recommend us not to or if we want to do it anyways they tell us to get another supervisor than our parents at their workplace, so that it will be more "real".
Most people are fifteen turning sixteen in year ten (So year 8=14, 9=15, 10=16, 11=17, 12=18)
Most people don't go to work with their parents, it's more of a last resort type of thing. I talked to my dad about it and he said if I went with him he'd send me to work with the other teachers and not him. Though we'll see next year. My girlfriend is currently in year ten and hates PLP, mainly because of the teacher but still.
