@Masterkey

Actually I enjoyed Son of Neptune, too.

@wake-read-eat-sleep

Yeah! Son Of Neptune was probably the best Heroes Of Olympus book. I enjoyed the Kane Chronicles too (it's another R.R book).

I know, Kane was OK.

@wake-read-eat-sleep

yeah. A little oversarcastic, I guess.

Well, not for me, I just was too busy reading other things.

@Masterkey

Also, I haven't read any of the Divine Comedy (well little sections here and there, but nothing dedicated), but I do like reading classic literature. Have you guys read A Tale of Two Cities, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Middlemarch, Jane Austen books, anything like that? Tell me what you've read, and if I have we can discuss those.

Yeah, I've read the Divine Comedy, Beowulf, the Odyssey, the Illiad, the Aeneid, On the Celestial Hierarchy, and a few other things.

@Masterkey

Nope I haven't read any of those. I don't think I've read any ancient literature except The Epic of Gilgamesh…

Oh. That's a good one. Paradoxical as hell, but still.

@Masterkey

Have you read any old fairy tales or poetry?

Brothers Grimm, all of it.

@Masterkey

WOW SWEET which ones stood out to you the most? Which was your favorite? Least favorite? Do you actually enjoy fairy tales..?

I like fairy tales, yes, I'd have to say "the White Snake" is my favorite.

@Masterkey

I adore fairy tales. I've read so many. I think they were the first things I was reading on my own… My favorite fairy tale author ever is probably George MacDonald. Read any of his stuff?

I didn't remember The White Snake, so I got it out and read it. First of all, WHY THE HECK WOULD HE KILL HIS HORSE TO FEED SOME RAVENS MY GOSH DID THE HORSE NOT SPEAK TO HIM IN HIS AGONY?

@hopelessromantic

I've read the Da Vinci Code and Jane Austen books! I also love Agatha Christie.

@Masterkey

Yay Jane Austen! I binge-read Emma, Sense and Sensibility, and Pride and Prejudice in a week. XD

@hopelessromantic

I love Persuasion; it's my favorite Jane Austen book. I like the Emma movie better than the book…is that bad? Or maybe I just don't like Emma Woodhouse. Idk, she's sort of bratty…Mr. Knightley is so perfect!! And wow! You read a lot.

@Masterkey

I really liked Emma's character development, tbh. She was supposed to be bratty I think, since Jane Auten liked making fun of the high class. I also related to her in a lot of ways. :P I actually haven't read Persuasion, I should really get on that.

@hopelessromantic

I love how Jane Austen makes fun of the "elite". One of the top reasons why I love her writing. All her characters are so lively even if their personality is quiet and stuff. They BREATHE!! Like, WOW! I admire her writing so much. If only modern writers can write like that. I feel like we write really cheap stuff lol. At least, what is in the YA section… agh.

Persuasion is amazing! When you get to the letter scene, you'll die. I had to stop reading and calm myself down.

@Masterkey

Yes Jane Austen was so talented, she is a MASTER of conversation, comedy, and just displaying real life! When I was re-reading her stuff, she barely described the characters' surroundings, because it was all about the characters. But I didn't even notice.

I'm so excited to read it now. :D

@hopelessromantic

Have you read The Professor by Charlotte Bronte? I love it. I should reread it.

@Masterkey

No! I read Jane Eyre, though, have you read that?

@hopelessromantic

No, I should. I love classic writing.

I don't remember him killing any horses? Maybe you read a different version of it.

@Masterkey

He killed his horse to feed the raven in the version I have… It's titled "The White Snake," right? And by eating the snake, the servant can understand what creatures are saying?

Yes. But horses?

@Masterkey

I re-read the part. It said "Then the kind young man dismounted, killed his horse with his dagger, and left it to the young ravens for food."

I don't recall that, and my book is far too expansive for me to check.

@Masterkey

Table of contents?

@Masterkey

Well it doesn't really matter I guess
