Lesser Known books that deserve attention

So thee is an entire comunity of books that get very little love and attention but are really good so Here's a place to put them out there.

  1. The Spectra Unearthed By Christie Valentine Powell- The Blurb doesn't do the actual book series justice But if you start and stick with it there Pretty good, and I've only read good things about the books, word of advice just stick with the second book it's a little harder to get through. she also has a book called Mira's Griffin that I have yet to read.

  2. Squire's Tales By Gerald Morris- The Best retelling I've ever read of King Arthur and the round table, told from the perspective of a Squire, It's really entertaining and engaging, and there are a Lot of them so if you're looking for a book series to last a while this is a good one.

  3. Gregor the Over lander By Suzanne Collins- This is a very unique read and Quite entertaining, I found my self unable to predict twists and turns but in a good way. This is another one of those books that has a bunch of companions, The entire collection took me about a week to read (On average two books a day, I read quickly) It was very interesting and different.

@actual-fandom-trash

I'll have to look into the first two but I LOVE GREGOR THE OVERLANDER! I read it a few years ago and it was really awesome!! Glad to meet someone else who's read it!

Basic summary

Gay boy (Tenn) has powers along with tons of other people it is like a post apocalyptic world. There are people who have become 'zombies' because people sucked the power out of them. Tenn and two others are trying to find someone and kill them and stop them (I believe?)

Yeah. He's got a really cool writing style that's disturbing and surreal! And his books always smell nice!

Anything written by Sir Terry Pratchett. If you're interested in his Discworld series, might I suggest the Tiffany Aching series? It's all coming-of-age-and-adulting-as-well, and A Hat Full Of Sky is my fave so far lol.

  • Any of Joan Bauer's realistic fiction. It tackles some difficult topics while maintaining a fun tone, and without the mood whiplash.
  • Saving Red by Sonya Sones (cute but mad me cry)
  • The True Meaning of Smekday (it's ridiculous and really funny, but also serious when it needs to be)
book

It's really quite excellent if I do say so myself.

Hey! I can do that now! The perks of being old.
