I'm in Finland so I don't have to deal with the Fourth of July. However, I do have to deal with my relatives judging me for forgetting how to speak Finnish (which happened when I was FOUR)
In case you're wondering, this is why roman candles aren't legal. At least here.
I'm just sittin outside, eating my disgustingly green Kona ice and watching kids play with sparklers when a guy and his kids start setting off fire stuff. They started with firecrackers, then moved up to I'm not sure what. There's a growing circle of blacked, burned grass in this area, next to a parking lot. I look away, and BAM! A roman candle has flown sideways into a car. Just as this happens, two police cars are driving by. Shocker, they go up to talk to him. They examine the damage on the car and talk to him some more. He appears to admit he has more, and leads them to his stash. They come back to the cars a while later and the officers write him up. Turns out that car wasn't his.
Don't play with illegal fire things in public. Or, you know, ever. Because they're illegal.

Roman candles are perfectly legal where I am, my dad shot off two of them at once while holding the barrels, spinning around in a circle, as me/my little siblings all screamed 'MURICAAAA each time a spark went off.

I sort of had a party in my honor along with other people but I was definitely in the top four most hardworking.
I was just on planes for the past fourteen hours and I had a connection at Chicago airport and damn that place was terrible. It took us two hours to get to security and we were only at the gate ten minutes before takeoff.
