I get that you're worried, but that doesn't mean it's going to stop your sister from being drafted along with you if/when it happens. I'm sure she'll be able to take care of herself just as well as you can take care of yourself, hmm?

But she won't in fact, on average, men beat women in any test of physical skill. Men are stronger than women, so men are better suited for battle.
(Nah man I understand that. I'm just concerned about the sibling relationship of this and if being another protective figure in her life is doing more help or harm, but that honestly is none of my business. I have a brother kinda like that towards me and it really irks me a lot so yeah…)
The equality ideal is nice, but that's not the only reason. In whatever massive war that will come next, no matter who it is with, technology has improved to the point where the military would need more and more bodies on the ground and involved in the fight.
On the other hand, there still needs to be a group of people left untouched to continue running this country's economy, so who better than the ones who give birth.
